Check out this important perspective from Betsy Brais on the issue of prior authorizations in an interview with the Novant Health Center for Public Policy Solutions. “Each minute I spend on the phone with an insurance company is a minute I can’t be with my patients… Patient care needs to be put back in the center of the process and policy solutions like gold carding, time limits on prior authorization reviews, and required peer-to-peer conversations - where we are actually talking to a peer from the same specialty as the condition we’re treating - would be a great start.” #healthcare #priorauth #burnout

Recognizing the Importance of Public Health Public health is a critical domain that plays a vital role in promoting and protecting the health and well-being of populations. However, there are concerns that public health is often overlooked or neglected compared to other areas of the healthcare system. The Need for a Specialized Approach To address this issue, there is a growing argument that public health should have its own dedicated cadre of professionals. This would allow for the development of specialized expertise, targeted training, and a stronger focus on the unique challenges and priorities of public health practice. #publichealth #publichealthcareer #publichealthprofessionals #publichealthcadre #MPH

ACTION ALERT: Senators on the HELP committee are considering legislation that poses a DIRECT THREAT to patients' access to quality care. Hospitals play a critical role in treating patients with complex and chronic conditions; they are uniquely equipped to provide emergency care and handle complications. This proposed legislation would jeopardize access to these essential services. We cannot have healthy communities without a health care system that provides care for all those who need it. To do that, hospitals and health systems need the necessary support – and patients need accessible, quality care that hospitals are uniquely equipped to provide. Tell your Senator: Protect access to quality health care!
