Disability comes in all shapes and sizes, each with its own set of challenges. But despite this diversity, the sad commonality witnessed all across the globe remains same, EXCLUSION. Exclusion from festivals, exclusion from concerts, exclusion from mainstream opportunities, education, health and the list goes on. Exclusion is deeply rooted in the society. The uncomfortable and judgmental looks remain timeless. This universal exclusion calls for a united response. Let’s aim for a society that sees the inherent worth and potential in every individual. Let’s make Diversity the norm. Join Anchal Charitable Trust in our mission of inclusion! #disabilityrights #inclusion

Former Small Business owerner Currently a Volunteer Crisis Counselor working to save one life at a time
I have some more data about Suicide, Suicide Prevention, and the ASFP to share. To motivate you to share too and I hope donate to my Walk Page. October 6, 2024 is the NYC Chapter Out of Darkness Walk. It will start the NYC Seaport Pier 16 & 17 in the Seaport District. The event opens at 10AM. The walk starts at 11:30AM AFSP is the largest private funder of suicide prevention research. Much of what is known about suicide today comes from AFSP funded studies. Research priority areas include diversity, technological tools for suicide prevention, and survivors of suicide loss. School programs: It’s Real (middle school, high school & college); More Than Sad (school staff & parents). Community programs: Talk Saves Lives – an introductory suicide prevention presentation. Modules available for LGBTQ Communities, Black/African American Communities, Latinx & Hispanic Communities, Seniors, Workplaces, Correction Facilities, the Construction Industry, and Firearm Owners. I have given the School and Community Programs and they are smart, powerful, and make a difference. If you're in NYC let me know if your organization, school, or community center would be interested in a program presentation. #suicide, #suicideprevention,

Caring for Denver Foundation announced more than $11.4 million in funding to community-based nonprofits that will fill gaps in mental health and substance misuse care, especially surrounding the need for a more diverse, accessible, and intentional workforce. The goal is to meet Denver’s higher demand for inclusive access to behavioral health care with services that reflect and affirm individuals’ needs and identities, while also supporting care providers. “There is a higher demand for services that are relevant and accessible to our communities’ cultures and experiences,” said Lorez Meinhold, the foundation’s executive director. “These funded programs will increase connections and belonging and provide more care in trusted spaces, creating safe spaces for older adults, veterans, and diverse communities to heal in.” The funding expands access to care for people of color, people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, people within the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and survivors of sexual assault, among others. It also includes funding to support care provider resiliency and training for community mental health providers, including direct clinical care and peer support. Grantees are funded under Caring for Denver Foundation’s community-identified funding area, Community-Centered Solutions, outlined here: https://lnkd.in/gHSecNV8
