Do you find it hard to make the right decisions when it comes to new ideas and opportunities ❓You are not alone. Evaluating and prioritising new ideas and opportunities is not an easy task. It sounds simple enough: rate, rank and select, but the reality is not so simple. Insufficient information, high uncertainty, biases, company history and politics are all factors that influence decision making. Add to that a lack of resources and uncertain management backing, which is often the reality of innovation projects. Decision-making is complex, but there are some things you can do to make it easier:  👀 Involve the right people in the evaluation process: go abroad those with the right knowledge, and include those with the mandate and power to push ideas forward 🔎 Build a simple and transparent process for evaluation: avoid complex rating systems and focus on a few simple criteria that are communicated upfront 📊 Provide flexible overviews: once evaluations are in, share the results in a manner that gives overview, but also allows for ranking on different criteria  🕰 Get people together to make the final decision: make sure everyone has a chance to get heard, and select ideas based on both consensus and strong individual convictions. Make sure to also discuss actions for deselected ideas 📣 Communicate the results: let people know what the decision is and what the immediate actions are 🏃♂️Get moving, fast: nothing is more detrimental to innovation than a decision that leads to nothing. Live up to your promise and show immediate action! A platform cannot solve this for you, but it can support you some of the way.
