Desiree: "Parents should consider AI cautiously like they view any other online vehicle. We are at the beginning stages of AI; many schools are creating AI policies as we learn about it. We have a responsibility to teach children the necessary tools to be good digital citizens and to be mindful of potential problems and issues. Technology is a wonderful tool and has many positive benefits. AI can show students how to improve their work instead of doing the job for students." It has been a privilege to represent Cisco on the #TeachAI Advisory Committee to provide strategic advice and feedback on TeachAI resources to reach shared goals around #AI use within education.  Around the world post-pandemic has left the average student by some estimates lagging by one-half year in math and one-third of a year in reading. Students from low-income and predominantly minority regions fell further behind their peers. In this context, students’ access to computer science education in the classroom is not equitable and is even further out of reach for most students.  Working in partnership with Code.org and the coalition of partners ISTE, ETS, Khan Academy, and World Economic Forum the #TeachAI toolkit provides tools and frameworks that represent the beginning of the conversation of #AI that will direct the future of education pedagogy, classroom management, teacher capacity development, and education delivery and administration globally.
