The role of the Macro-Regional Strategies is seen positively in recommendations for the future of the #EUCohesionPolicy. The High-Level Group on the Future of Cohesion Policy has published its strategic conclusions and recommendations in a final report. A reformed Cohesion Policy should, according to the report, "focus on increasing the budget and enhancing coordination and concertation, including via macro-regional strategies or interregional cooperation to transfer good practice." Macro-regional Strategies help projects to link to wider stakeholder groups and offer the possibility to link to wider policy discussions. Macro-regional Strategies can help connect to partners and bring initiatives together extending the territorial impact for EU-funded projects. We are proud and happy of the acknowledgement of our work and look forward to even increased cooperation in the future! 💫 A look back at the Rencontres de la participation in Toulouse, with representatives of the Phoenix Horizon 2020 team! 🎲 Res publica and PHOENIX_H2020 representatives presented the challenges of participation and democracy through two serious games: 👉 The deliberation game, designed by Res publica, which allows the participants to discover how to build a participatory approach 👉 The collective ecosystem game, designed by Unifi, which fosters social learning about the relationship between environmental processes and territorial transformations 👥 A workshop on how to include voiceless people in the transition was also lead by Phoenix Project stakeholders: 🔹 Gyula Nagy spoke about the political situation in Hungary, highlighting the exclusion of people from political and policy discourses, a characteristic of a centralised country. 🔹 Carmen Bouley de Santiago presented the method used in the French national debate on the future of the sea that consisted in co-defining who the voiceless people are, together with those concerned; and the naming of ambassadors who organised actions in partnership with social centres. 🔹 Giovanni Allegretti told about involving local inhabitants in forest fire prevention in the cross-border area of Gata-Malcata between Portugal and Spain. 🔹 Sophie Guillain spoke about the overall lessons from Phoenix and the value of co-design commissions. 🙌 The workshop discussions helped explore: 🧐 Who are the voiceless people? 🤔 How can we define the priority groups to involve, based on a given context? 🔎 What obstacles need to be overcome for these groups to participate? Caroline SCHLENKER from Grenoble-Alpes Métropole shared an interesting account of the participatory measures they implemented to include refugees. #RencontresDeLaParticipation #Toulouse #CollectiveIntelligence
