2023 has been a year full of challenges and milestones achieved for Enagás. Some of the highlights were: ✔ The celebration of the first edition of #EnagásHydrogenDay, an event dedicated exclusively to the debate and sharing of knowledge of the entire sector around #GreenHydrogen. ✔ The #H2med presentation in Berlin, together with our project partners TSOs GRTgaz, Teréga, OGE and REN. ✔ The designation of Enagás as HTNO, provisional manager of the hydrogen backbone network in Spain. We continue to take steps towards a future in which renewable hydrogen will be the protagonist. Because hydrogen is now.

A project to develop a renewable hydrogen ecosystem in the Veneto region of northeast #Italy was announced by three companies (Alpiq, San Marco Petroli spa, Sinloc - Sistema Iniziative Locali SpA) on 5 September. The companies will study the feasibility of developing a 10MW #electrolyser plant that will supply #hydrogen to regional transport companies to decarbonise water transportation in Venice Bay. Annual production is estimated at 12,000 tonnes/year of renewable hydrogen. Gary Hornby illustrates the Italian hydrogen strategy in detail. Italy is seeking to develop its hydrogen economy by relying heavily on imports of renewable hydrogen rather than indigenous production. Mabanaft is granted EUR 12.4 million in funding for the construction of a new solar methanol plant in Australia... together with Vast, the Australian renewable energy company, Mabanaft is assessing the build of a demonstration plant, with a capacity of around 7,500 tonnes of green methanol per year. "With access to green methanol, our range of sustainable energy solutions for our customers would continue to grow. The funding agreement makes a crucial recognition and validation of our decarbonisation efforts and can be a strong contribution to strengthening Germany's leading role in the global energy transition," Philipp Kroepels, Director New Energy, Mabanaft. “This is a significant milestone for Vast and for green fuel production globally. Solar Methanol produced at plants like SM1 has the potential to make a huge difference to the transport sector as it urgently looks at ways to decarbonise its fuels. Stargate’s Hydrogen Grant Manager Mari Savel and the Head of Application Engineering Victor Nikitin, visited the kick-off event of the European Union funded new green hydrogen project in Gran Canaria. 🌴     The project team was welcomed by Esther Monzón, Regional Minister of Health who understands the importance of such initiatives to bring the island towards a #greenfuture. 🌎 The project’s objective is to demonstrate the full value chain of #Greenhydrogen produced with our 1 MW alkaline electrolyser, which is installed in the harbor and powered by #offshore wind Renewable Energy.
