Big moment for Hyme as we cut yesterday the ribbon and inaugurated the world´s first molten hydroxides plant!! It feels still overwhelming all the support and attention that we felt yesterday together with our partners and stakeholders. It has been 2 long years since we are started our journey on trying to make the world a little bit better with our #energystorage plant. Needless to say the privilege that I feel personally to be leading this exciting project with the help of the entire Hyme team and all the partners and suppliers. Now we will get into the fun part with the Commissioning and O&M phase. Making reciprocating engine compatible to new fuels goes together with managing the slip, as they all have GHG power and the slip effect must be under control (from wake to well). Here is a little update of our work on #methaneslip

🚀 Last year we kicked off the “CANDHy - Compatibility Assessment of Non-steel metallic Distribution gas grid materials with Hydrogen” project in 📍Huesca, Spain. #Cleanhydrogen will play a vital role in the #energytransition either as a fuel or an energy carrier and has many possible applications across industry, #transport, energy and building sectors and, therefore, local gas grids across Europe are working hard to get ready for its transport. The realisation of the prospects of delivering H2/NG admixtures or even 100 % H2 by existing gas #distribution grids exacerbates the problem of pipe integrity due to the well-known negative impact of hydrogen on the mechanical properties of #metals.  Most projects assessing safe hydrogen compatibility with natural gas #distributiongrids have not performed long-term material integrity assessment replicating distribution grid operating conditions in testing platforms. CANDHy will allow the possibility of testing relevant metallic materials, different from the more-studied steels, with a methodology involving simultaneous tests in independent R&D platforms with a common methodology. The 💼 CANDHy project will enable hydrogen distribution in low pressure gas grids by collection of consolidated and exhaustive scientific data, coupled with harmonised guidelines for non-steel metallic grid materials. The third meeting of the METHAREN project (EU #Horizon Europe) took place in Rome: the partners discussed the latest advances, in preparation for the detailed #engineering #design of the demonstration unit. Hysytech, in particular, will provide support during this phase and will execute the construction and installation of the prototype at Acea Pinerolese Industriale S.p.A. Metharen is a European #research project that aims to produce #biomethane compliant with #naturalgas grid specifications by using a #biowaste #gasification system, a solid oxide electrolyzer and a #methanation system.  #research #biomethane #methane #gas #biowaste

via Bulls N' Bears with Matt Birney Laboratory testwork has begun on brines from Lithium Energy Limited (ASX Code: LEL)’s Solaroz lithium project in Argentina after the company sent a 10,000-litre sample to Xi’an Lanshen New Material Technology’s laboratory in Chile. It comes just six months after China-based Lanshen committed to building and funding a demonstration plant at Solaroz that would be capable of producing up to 3000 tonnes of battery-grade #lithium carbonate a year from the project’s brines. Management says the testwork would aim to optimise Lanshen’s direct lithium extraction (DLE) process flowsheet and optimise resin performance.
