So, we’re kicking off our brand-new campaign, #ChildrenKeepTheScore, to highlight the impact of domestic abuse on families during this time. Research from Warwick Business School revealed that domestic abuse by partners increased by 47% on the day England won a World Cup or European Championship match, with reports of cases involving alcohol 18% higher than average. By addressing the relationship between football and domestic abuse - and promoting positive behaviours - Children Keep the Score aims to create a safer environment for families during the Euros 2024 and beyond. ⚽❌ Is the European Super League back? While most football fans believed the idea to be over for good back in 2021, this week's revival is an unwanted Christmas gift for many. In The Athletic, our own sports law expert Catherine Forshaw explains the latest developments through a legal lens. "The judgment interpreted EU law and the validity of the proposed action; it did not decide the dispute", she writes. "The fact that we have already seen A22 release another proposal for new competitions with 64 men’s and 32 women’s teams playing midweek matches in a league system across Europe just hours after the judgment is a clear indicator that there is still a lot more to come.” “Currently these clubs face a 30-point deduction if they attempt a similar move in future and the Premier League has also asserted they will face a £25m fine if they attempt another breakaway. Due to the nature of the sport, it is difficult to plan an end time. However, we expect the day’s action to be complete by 20:00 each evening. Tickets for Thursday and Friday are split between day (09:00-15:00) and evening (15:00-20:00) options. Saturday and Sunday tickets give access for the whole event day.
