We’re really excited to share that next Friday 28th June, we’ll be sponsoring Food Tank’s first annual London Climate Action Week Summit, focused on “The Intersection of Food, Technology, Investment, and the Climate Crisis.” As part of the afternoon’s speaker programme, our Chief Executive Officer Stefan Descheemaeker will be participating on a panel discussion looking at “Making Sustainable Food Accessible For Everyone” and later in the afternoon our General Counsel, Neil Fletcher, will be taking part in a keynote fireside chat on our temperature change study, exploring whether a 3 degree increase in freezer temperatures could return a 10-11% carbon reduction. In addition, we’re really excited to have a number of our products on offer as part of the tasting and snacking menus throughout the day. Tickets are by invitation only. We have joined the initiative for coffee&climate! As one of the world's oldest coffee roasters and a proud representative of Vienna's coffeehouse culture, we're bringing our legacy of quality and dedication into this vital cause. Tackling climate change in the coffee sector is not just a responsibility, but a goal for us. Our partnership with c&c aligns perfectly with our long-standing commitment to sustainability and improving the livelihoods of smallholder coffee farming families. We believe it is crucial for the coffee industry to work together for climate-resilient coffee farming and healthy coffee landscapes. We are proud to be part of c&c and are committed to playing a key role in this collaborative effort. #coffeeandclimate #juliusmeinl #vienna #sustainability

How and why should citizens embrace sustainable food systems? We tried to answer these and similar questions in the recently published book, Food futures. While the Farm to Fork is a cornerstone strategy of the European Green Deal, its success depends on going beyond policy action. We need to include the cultural perspective. That means adapting our eating habits and attitudes towards food. To explore the link between the food, environment, culture and policy, we turned to our artists in residence, Sonja Stummerer and Martin Hablesreiter (Honey & Bunny). Together with photographers Ulrike Koeb and Daisuke Akita, as well as numerous scientists, they created a beautifully illustrated book addressing the complex world of sustainable food systems.
