🤩 This year, the European Capitals of Culture programme is putting a spotlight on three delightful towns: Bad Ischl in Austria, Bodø in Norway, and Tartu in Estonia. What makes them unique? They're among the smallest places ever to be honored with this prestigious title! 🌟 🤲 Come along with us as we embark on a virtual exploration of the cultural heritage of each of these hidden treasures. 🏡 Nestled in the scenic Salzkammergut region, Bad Ischl, comprising 23 municipalities, is a historic town holding the title of 'Capital of Culture.' Once a summer residence for Emperor Franz Joseph I, its Kaiservilla witnessed pivotal moments like the signing of Austria-Hungary's declaration of war in 1914. 👉 Beyond its historical milestones, Bad Ischl has a deep-seated heritage dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. The lakeside village of Hallstatt, within its vicinity, is renowned for the Hallstatt culture (850 to 500 BCE), with excavations unearthing artifacts from nearby salt mines. 🙌 As Bad Ischl embraces its role as a European Capital of Culture, it focuses on four key areas: Power and tradition, Culture in motion, Sharing Salzkammergut, and 'Globalokal.' Through these initiatives, Bad Ischl aims to honor its past while embracing the future, and celebrating its diverse heritage. Introduces unpredictability and invites to interactions and self-contributions, linking theory to practice. The concept of serious game is most easily described as games that go beyond fun and into the realm of learning and exchange of experience. Life is good

From 12-14 May 2024, the first Executive Conference of the NEBoD network will take place at the Hochschule für Gestaltung HfG Ulm, Germany under the title Danube Future Works. The New European Bauhaus on the Danube (NEBoD) focuses on promoting a new development approach in the Danube region considering the green and just transition promoted by the EU.  The aim of the conference is to ask in an interdisciplinary group how sustainable future development in urban and rural areas can be re-envisioned and realistically implemented. The conference - by invitation only - is organised as an active format. In addition to prominent keynote speeches, the 80-100 invited participants will work on specific case studies in four workshops, focusing on urban and regional development challenges in the Danube region. These will be interspersed with short impulses on topics such as green finance, new governance, planning tools and arts & culture. I am honoured to have been invited, as EDF expert and member of the EDF expert groups on built environment and transport, to participate in the work and speaking on Accessibility and usability for All at an urban scale. https://lnkd.in/dgg3uGNH
