It would also be good if the scorecared is presented in an infographic format highlighting the progressive changes in fiscal, monetary, macroeconomics and infrastructure development. The infographic would also have to highlight the government’s total expenditure in the last 5 years including disbursements to Districts (DSIP) and Provinces (PSIP), the GDP growth, the GDP per capita and the total public debt accumulated in the last 5 years, and the debt to GDP ratio.

Danish government to decide on the monarchy’s new budget behind closed doors. What is there to hide? This is not national security, or? Let public be part of hearings what is the ask, the intentions and the purpose. Officially still a monarchy, it is imperative for Danish people to have a say what their king gets to spend on with which intentions. Instead of making it a closed door discussion, I suggest a more direct form of voting on budget of the monarcy and its intended functions.

"Echoes of 1979: Is Britain Revisiting the Past?" As the UK gears up for the next election, striking parallels are emerging between the challenges faced by Margaret Thatcher in 1979 and those looming on the horizon for the next administration. From soaring inflation to resurfacing strikes, the landscape bears undeniable resemblances to the tumultuous era that Thatcher inherited. Civil servants in Whitehall are already preparing briefings for incoming ministers, reminiscent of the preparations made four decades ago. These uncanny similarities raise questions about whether Britain is on the brink of revisiting the upheavals of the past and signal the daunting tasks awaiting the winner of the upcoming election. As the nation stands at this critical juncture, the echoes of history serve as a sobering reminder of the need for decisive leadership and innovative solutions to navigate the challenges ahead.

What was the role of our next prime minister in the persecution of Julian Assange? There is a cover-up going on. But it will come out. Trust. @kennardmatt X Declassified UK ✌️☮️ Labour is on track to win big, risking an elective dictatorship under Keir Starmer, who could be unchecked in his power. Our strategy is simple: Keep the good ones: Vote for MPs who have a track record of supporting Palestinian rights (see our scorecard section). By keeping them in the party, we ensure there are voices to counterbalance Starmer’s dominance and keep him in line. Vote out the bad ones: We've analysed who is best placed to beat Labour in each constituency. By voting strategically for Greens, Lib Dems, Independents, or others, we can reduce Labour’s majority and prevent one-party dominance. Please visit https://lnkd.in/ek9vW2Ky

The Netherlands’ strangest government formation process in memory keeps unfolding in unprecedented ways, with political drama shifting into farce and suspense yielding to surprise, along a path set to produce the oddest government anyone here can remember. After months of false starts and melodramatic plot twists, it seems the country will, in fact, have a right-wing government. But it will be a very peculiar one. In fact, some are still betting that even after finally agreeing last week on a plan for governing, the incompatible coalition members will ultimately fail to agree on fundamental elements for implementing it that remain undecided. That includes the rather important “detail” of who will be the country’s next prime minister. https://lnkd.in/gUPfEXFT

- New Dutch government drives wedge through EU liberals https://lnkd.in/eh2RWt3Y Valérie Hayer, leading candidate for Macron’s party in France, slammed decision by Mark Rutte’s party to join Wilders. On Thursday, Valérie Hayer, French MEP who leads the liberal Renew Europe bloc in the European Parlia-ment, expressed “total disapproval” following the announcement of a four-party Dutch coalition deal that includes both Wilders’ party (PVV) and Rutte’s People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). She suggested that the matter will be discussed at the first post-election meeting of the Renew group. - All eyes on EU liberals as coalition with far-right tests campaign promise https://lnkd.in/esPhk9Pd Having made the fight against the extreme right one of the centrepieces of the EU liberals’ campaign, it remains to be seen how they will react to the extreme right joining forces with Dutch liberals in a new government in the Netherlands. Will they be true to their word? After criticising the centre-right European People’s Party for its government coalition agreements with extreme right parties in Italy, Finland, and Croatia, the liberals are now facing the extreme right surge in their own home. One member of the liberal Renew group, Dutch Prime Minister Rutte’s liberal VVD party, is joining forces with Wilders’ far-right PVV in a new government. These new developments go completely against what ALDE has been saying in recent months. During their electoral congress in Brussels, national member parties approved a resolution vowing to “support the [extreme right] cordon sanitaire.” France’s Valérie Hayer, the leader of Renew group, bringing together ALDE and other liberal parties in the European Parliament, has said that “compromising with the extreme right is not acceptable,” also announ cing on X that she will “call a meeting with all the group’s member parties on 10 June”.
The decision by outgoing Dutch PM Mark Rutte’s liberal party to enter government with Geert Wilders’ far-right Freedom Party provoked a sharp rebuke from French President Emmanuel Macron’s top ally in Brussels.
