NL Space Week, the week when the space sector opens its doors and invites everyone from age 0 to 100 to uncover space, is set for 29 September to 6 October this year! The week caters to all audiences through a broad set of events, such as the well-known ESA/ESTEC Open Days including Space Expo, the SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research Open Day, and the Old Observatory Leiden's open day. As always, ESA/ESTEC Open Days coincide with the Weekend van de Wetenschap on 5th and 6th October. Moreover, this year's edition is packed with unique highlights such as the 35th Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers where André Kuipers hosts 100 international astronauts visiting The Netherlands, and the final week of NL MOONSHOTS '24, where 250 students bring their ideas to life. Representatives from various organisations of the Dutch space industry came together at SBIC Noordwijk this week to initiate collaborations and conversations about the forthcoming NL Space Week. From leading institutions and seasoned professionals to curious enthusiasts, the NL Space Week Kick-Off gathering signifies the start of an inclusive and engaging experience coming up this autumn. Also many thanks to Helen Kuipers and Debbie Schouten (ASE), Lucien Geelhoed (NL Moonshots '24), Anja Appelt (ESA ESTEC) and Jennifer Dawn Hordijk-Faure (NSO) for elaborating on programming, plans and ambitions this fall. Definitely inspired action & ideas!
