I'm humbled to officially welcome the first cohort of ventures and entrepreneurs we'll be supporting in year 1 of our Unreasonable Food partnership. It's estimated that more than 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions caused by human activity can be attributed to the way we produce, process, and package food. As one of the world’s largest food companies with some of the world’s most admired brands, Mars, together with the entrepreneurs we are supporting, is uniquely positioned to put that statistic where it belongs — in a museum. Press release - https://lnkd.in/ggN4nZhh Read about each of the ventures selected - https://lnkd.in/gDSRtv4y It's hard to imagine a better cohort of ventures to be supporting in our shared desire to collectively set a new standard for sustainability in our food systems: Mootral, Yard Stick PBC, Regrow Ag, LandScan, Nitricity, Absolute®, Xampla, LOLIWARE Inc., Farmerline Group, 80 Acres Farms, MycoTechnology, Inc., Voyage Foods, String Bio Private Limited, Air Protein, Sea Forest

Sweet news. Unreasonable and Mars have chosen Sea Forest as one of 15 ventures to join the Unreasonable Food 2024 program, the world’s first global network focused on climate action through scaling up entrepreneurial solutions in the food industry. "We're super excited and humbled to be chosen for this," said Sam Elsom, our co-founder and CEO. "The world can't wait for these solutions, and the dream for Sea Forest has always been to have a massive positive impact on the world, which is possible when you start partnering with companies the size and scale of Mars." The only Aussie company in the group, Sea Forest was picked through a rigorous selection process based on factors like our problem statement and solution mind-set, technology readiness and differentiation, funding and traction, potential impact, scalability and timeline to partner. “Mars is thrilled to welcome the inaugural cohort of companies positioned to re-define our food systems, including ventures like Sea Forest, that bring a unique proposition to the table as the first company in the world to commercially farm the red seaweed,” said Greg Hocking, VP Global R&D, New Innovation Territories, at Mars Wrigley. “We know the importance of reducing dairy enteric emissions within our supply chain. It's our hope that a collaboration with Sea Forest could one day result in Mars products that contain more sustainably sourced ingredients, thereby delivering a lower greenhouse gas footprint.” The Unreasonable Food program has been created to positively impact sustainability goals for Mars, outlined in the Mars Net Zero Roadmap and their 2030 goals of reducing emissions by 50% and beyond. Owner of world-famous brands including Snickers and Whiskas, Mars is investing USD$1billion over the next three years alone to drive climate action. Another aim for the program is to accelerate the growth and impact of ventures like Sea Forest towards the goal of a more sustainable and resilient food system for everyone. Congrats to our game-changing classmates. They're not only doing mind-bending stuff like growing food from air, and replacing plastic with seaweed, but they're providing real hope for a better world: 80 Acres Farms, Mootral, Yard Stick PBC, Regrow Ag, LandScan, Nitricity, Absolute®, Xampla, LOLIWARE Inc., Farmerline Group, MycoTechnology, Inc., Voyage Foods, String Bio Private Limited, Air Protein

There is only one way to solve the challenge of feeding 10 billion people sustainably – together. At Ragn-Sells, we contribute to a more sustainable food system by developing circular solutions for key agricultural nutrients. We offer technology for producing clean phosphorus and nitrogen from sewage. We turn fish poop from aquaculture into energy and fertiliser, and extract potassium from the ashes from waste incineration. But we bring only one piece of the jigsaw. We know that actors all around the food world are working hard to find more sustainable ways of feeding a growing planet. With the 10 Billion Challenge Initiative, we aim to bring together businesses, innovators, and entrepreneurs to form circular partnerships and showcase the solutions they bring to the table. Let’s change food together! Join us in tackling the 10 Billion Challenge today. 👇 #10BillionChallenge
