Community Engagement Manager - EPIT

This is but the start of a journey towards a cohesive approach to do better for our learners. My key question is how might we make Communities of Practice, collaboration and relationship building a BAU activity? How do we build it into the DNA of organisations and make sure it is acknowledged as a valuable activity? #collaboration #equity #mentalhealth #wellbeing

Over the past year a number of organisations working in the youth mental health and wellbeing space have been in touch with us. The need for support in our education sector is real, this much is evident from what we were told by each person/organisation we spoke with. During those sessions, we found ourselves consistently naming the other organisations we'd met and kept being told it would be awesome if we could connect them with each other. And that's exactly what we did. On 11 July we brought together 14 organisations, all doing amazing work in the youth mental health and wellbeing space, to connect and learn about each other. It was an awesome, and fast, 90 minute session that was appreciated by all that attended. My favourite comment of the session was 'It's almost like we need an office where we can all be in together and work collaboratively', as that just what we offer at Te Whiriwhiringa The Nest! We want to thank all those who attended for valuing this hui, and for taking the time from your busy schedules to be there. I also want to thank those who wanted to be with us, but couldn't. Sir John Kirwan Foundation, Tim Read, GoodSpace Schools, Rally, Tina Jones MNZM, E Tū Tāngata, Soul Learning Ltd, Hauora Aotearoa, LifeChanger Foundation, Tātai Aho Rau Core Education, Pause Breathe Smile, Alex Strang, Wiremu Gray, Kelly Olsen, Jacinda Page At EPIT, we firmly believe that collaboration is how impact is made for all our learners. Our future leaders. We will continue to host these hui with the hope by bringing people together as it creates a platform for them to partner and collaborate. We're already looking forward to the next one!
