Are you planning to seek admission to a top-ranked university abroad?
An SOP or Statement of Purpose is an essential component of your university application and a swaying SOP will easily help you obtain a study permit abroad. It gives you a unique opportunity to shine in front of the admissions committee.
An SOP is a unique opportunity to let the admission committees know about your personality, experience, ambitions, and talents. With an SOP, you can make your application stand out, even with average grades.
If you have an excellent academic record, but fail to convince the university admission committee about why you are a good candidate for their university/course, know that your application will be refused.
Therefore, take time to write your statement of purpose. Make sure that it showcases every aspect of you in the best possible way.
Varsity students in Kenya face several challenges, among which meeting assignment deadlines and handling seminar presentations are prominent. The pressure to complete assignments within stipulated timeframes can be overwhelming, often exacerbated by a combination of factors such as a heavy workload, limited access to resources, and competing personal commitments. Additionally, the fast-paced nature of academic schedules leaves little room for procrastination, requiring students to manage their time efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising the quality of their work. Similarly, seminar presentations present a unique set of challenges, as students must not only demonstrate a thorough understanding of the subject matter but also communicate their ideas effectively to an audience. This requires adequate preparation, confidence in public speaking, and the ability to field questions or critiques from peers and professors. Moreover, for some students, language barriers or stage fright may further complicate the presentation process, adding to their stress and anxiety. Overall, addressing these challenges requires a combination of effective time management strategies, access to support resources, and opportunities for skill development to empower students to navigate their academic responsibilities successfully.
These 5 reasons will make it easier to decide if you want to do a dissertation or not (you should do one😉)
Despite the standard being doing a dissertation at the end of your university degree, some courses in the UK allow students to decide if they want to do one or not.
We strongly encourage you to do one! It will be hard, but you will learn so much about yourself and uncover some skills...

Second year MPH students:
This is the time to get very clear on your post-graduate outcomes.
Are you continuing your education? Looking for employment? Want to do a fellowship? Have certifications you're thinking about? Have courses in mind?
If you answer is yes to any of these, then you have to:
1 - work backwards from your goal
2 - identify your strengths and gaps
3 - start networking and learning how you fit
4 - find opportunities to fill the skill and knowledge gaps
5 - figure out the types of organizations you want to work at or which skillsets you want to develop
The answer to get to your desired outcome is clear (but not easy).

The person who recommends you for graduate studies plays a crucial role in shaping how admissions committees view your application. Let's break it down in simpler terms.
Imagine you're applying for a special club, and you need someone to vouch for you. The person recommending you is like a friend telling the club organizers, "Hey, this person is awesome, you should definitely let them in."
Similarly, when you're applying for graduate studies, your recommender is like your spokesperson. They're sharing with the admissions team why you're a great fit for their program. This could be a teacher, a boss, or someone who knows you well academically or professionally.
If the person recommending you is well-respected or has a good reputation, it's like having a strong advocate in your corner. Their positive words can make your application stand out and increase your chances of getting into the graduate program.
So, when you're thinking about who to ask for a recommendation, choose someone who knows you well, believes in your abilities, and can highlight why you'd be an excellent addition to the graduate community. It's like having a cheerleader in your application process!

To improve your institutional rank!
Tip #5: Enhance Student Experience and Outcomes
• Improve Student-Faculty Ratio: Ensure that the ratio of students to faculty is optimal for effective learning, which is an important criterion in rankings like QS and THE.
• Graduate Employability: Collaborate with industry partners to improve job placement for graduates. This not only improves the university’s reputation but also attracts better students and funding.
