🧘♂️✨ Last week I was leading a chair yoga & breathing session for the incredible trainees at Invisible Cities in Glasgow.
These individuals, who have experienced homelessness, are being empowered to become exceptional tour guides through their wonderful project.

Together, we breathed, stretched, and connected in a space of mindfulness and growth. ☀️

The stress we experience can significantly interfere with our ability to do our best work. By learning how to breathe correctly, we can increase our confidence and resilience to stress. 🌬️
Research conducted by the Harvard Medical School has shown that deep breathing techniques helps us to stay calm in stressful situations and make better decisions under pressure. 📈
Participants in the study underwent a stress task simulating a high-pressure performance situation, akin to a business meeting. 🌇
The group that didn’t comple a prior breathing workshop showed elevated breathing and heart rates before the task, while the breathing group remained steady. 👀
This suggests the program equipped them with a buffer against anxiety, leading to a more positive emotional state and improved task performance. 👩💼👨💼

🧘🏼♀️I had the pleasure of experiencing Ildiko's chair yoga session last week during our training session at Invisible Cities in Glasgow, and it was truly stimulating.
Some of our trainees were initially hesitant about trying yoga, but Ildiko's approach made it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Her expertise in chair yoga not only helped us relax and unwind but also dispelled any misconceptions about yoga being a mysterious or intimidating practice.
