53rd National Safety Week Seamless Integration of Quality with Safety! It is often observed that most Quality Standards emphasize on creating a conducive work environment. The statistical QC tools used to represent the quality data play a pivotal role & act as indicators of safety measures too. It goes without saying that having a Quality Management System indeed acts a foundation for implementing OHSAS. Having a safe work environment not only boosts the morale of the staff but also improves productivity. Reach out to us for details about our quality training and consultation services. You Can read more about the study in safety science: https://lnkd.in/dAd6N45y Happy Reading.
Earlier this year, an employee at a Danish Crown slaughterhouse died in a tragic work accident. The accident is a clear example that we have a problem with the certification of the work environment in Denmark. This is the message from professor at SDU Peter Hasle, Christian Uhrenholdt Madsen, and Johnny Dyreborg in an opinion piece in Ingeniøren. As it turns out, the Danish Crown slaughterhouse was ISO-certified as a safe workplace. Even though the certification generally is a good indicator of the work environment, sometimes - obviously - it isn't. Research shows that 7 percent of ISO 45001-certified employers rank low when assessing the overall efforts to secure a good working environment. The three researchers, therefore, call for a quality improvement of the audits that are supposed to check whether the companies live up to the ISO standards and can obtain and maintain their certification. Read the entire piece below 👇 And if you are interested in the recent study of the effects of certifications of work environment, you can read the report (in Danish) here: https://lnkd.in/eBAMtaDC
