How to give a good compliment? Be honest, expect nothing in return, avoid qualifications. Also, we should occasionally move beyond people's appearance or performance.
#IDK… had to step back a sec to put things in #perspective and #context, especially the last sentence regarding #performance... and then "#occasionally" #nailedit for me. 🍻 #Love #this. Some could #say that the term used, for the #moral and #emotional #struggle, to adhere to your #socialgood and #goodwill commentary above, is a #factor of 😖#harborednegativity.
Isn't such humility too much to ask in a world where we are taught to promote ourselves? We're constantly giving likes, hoping to receive them in return. Perhaps you can truly recognize genuine and sincere people by how well they can give praise and how graciously they can receive it. A like is not the same as compliment. Nonetheless, I like this post.
Great advice on giving genuine compliments. It's especially important to appreciate the qualities that often go unnoticed.
Thats true. People appreciate it more when they are complemented on things people hardly notice. For example, complementing how careful an individual is in performing a particular activity most people perform carelessly.
My experience is that most people don't know how to recognize, appreciate and accept compliment. I heard people answer: • "what do you WANT?!..." • "FU!" and the classic • "ehemm!" We need to learn how to be patient with one another...
However , I do get glances or comments thankyou , no one noticed it .
"You're doing great tech analysis, sir. Have a great day!"
Great post ;)

2moLove this. On the reverse, it's good to learn how to take a compliment. They always feel good, but if you're like me, I always find way to not believe it, or shut it down, or put a wet blanket on a compliment. When you receive a great compliment take it, say thank you, feel the gratitude for it. Great piece, thanks for sharing.
