Selective Insurance is expected to release its Q4 earnings on January 31st, and it's worth noting that the company is owned by individual shareholders and institutional investors such as Vanguard & BlackRock However, based on my personal experience, to my belief, Selective Insurance leadership team, including President and CEO John Marchioni has not been following their own brand mission statement. Specifically, their claims division with president Paul Kush to my belief, has been overpromising and under delivering on services, which could have a significant impact on their stock. To my belief, their archaic approaches and policies have resulted in increased administrative costs to policyholders and a possible lower bottom line return to shareholders. It's important to never take a claimant for granted, as Selective Insurance may learn the hard way ignoring a claimant instead of finding an amicable resolution for settlement, winding up in a full trial raising administrative costs for clients. From my experience, they continue to not mitigate risk, raise administrative costs where possible, and take an archaic approach stance when a claim could have been settled amicably prior to trial. This could certainly have a deep impact on the Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) and may lead future or current clients to my belief, to look to other carriers when reviewing deductibles/SIR if self-insured. #Riskmanagement #claims #Selectiveinsurance #claimsmanagement #riskmanagers #claimmanagers #cnbc #barrons

Recruitment Marketing | Talent Brand | Talent Acquisition | Content Strategist | UX Writer| Content Creator | Marketing Specialist |Crafting Flawless Content and Stellar Recruiting Strategies | [email protected]
I don’t know if this is the same post I posted yesterday- buuuuutttt, I have something to add to my commentary. Yesterday I said give yourself permission to focus on the things in your personal sphere that will set you up for 2024. And I still stand by that. But- and of course, there’s a but. I woke up today and while doing my “let the dogs in and out, feed em, coffee” time; I applied to 5 jobs. Applying has become the absolute easiest part of getting a job. So, I do it eagerly every day. But consider your dedication to the job search, in levels. Today, I am at a level 1. I’m casually applying but my main focus is getting my house and office so organized that daily life is nearly automated. One day will easily slip into the next, giving me space and time to up the levels of dedication to finding my next role. Let’s take level 5, the highest you go. This looks comparable to a recruiter head hunting. We make it our job. This is constant connecting, interviews, learning; it’s basically a 50/60 hour a week job. And I’ve been at both ends of the spectrum. Now, internally? From a business perspective. There are a lot postings going up, because it’s a new fiscal year, leaders can hire, and they’ve been on hold so they’re ready to go, and all those processes need to happen quick. For all of those to happen quick, recruiters are having to move quick. All this to say, Tim is right about being careful who you listen to; but the second part is, take the time to understand where someone is speaking from. Where’s their seat in the company? What does their day-to-day look like? The CEO is going to say go, because that’s what a good CEO does as a leader. The recruiter is going to say, feel free to take time for you because honestly, they’re so busy they can’t get to you right now anyways. And the candidate? Well, they are beyond ready to go. Heightened anxiety and depression. They just spent the holidays without a job. No presents, no grand meals; just a solid feeling of failure, even if it’s not their fault. Me? Well, I am always going to advocate for the candidate. They make the wheels go round, and fix ‘em when they fall off. So here’s the full advice. Take your time. Don’t stress yourself out; because I know the holidays left some burn in your shoes, and you’re ready. Keep taking care of you but don’t lose that fire. Do a little each day, every day. 1% better every day. Balance your life accordingly. You got this, and when you don’t, I’ve got a ring of people who can help. As my amazing team leader said, “Closed mouths don’t get fed.” Ask for help, it’s just around the corner. #opentowork #openfornewopportunities #recruiters #recruitmentstrategies
Yesterday I saw an internal recruiter advising people that this week was not a good week to apply for jobs. Next week would be better. Meanwhile my feed is full of folks announcing new roles they are hiring for. Please be careful who you listen to on LinkedIn. ------- My job board has 1757 open roles. All posted by head hunters in my network. Apply if qualified. Submit your resume while there. Find it at my website. Best of luck with your search this week.
