Our team had an incredible day with clients and partners at the Women of AT&T's 7th Annual Golf Tournament! NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company team proudly represented the event at Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold, MD. We enjoyed amazing weather, games, fun, and golf mixed with social interaction.

"A team is distinct from other social bonds as the unifying element is the shared pursuit of a common goal, whether it be winning a World Cup, achieving a scientific breakthrough, or winning an election. Often, however, the relationship between teammates, their leaders, and their supporters extends far beyond the mere pursuit of a goal. A team quickly becomes a microcosm of broader societal phenomena, as issues such as power, gender, race, sexuality, and class come into play. Individual vs. collective, collaboration vs. competition, offense vs. defense, success vs. failure, inclusion vs. exclusion––when we become part of a team, we learn to negotiate a number of contrasting conditions. Teams rely on complex algorithms and alchemies and when properly designed, expertly trained, and wholeheartedly inspired, they are greater than the sum of their parts. This Salon explores the ways in which they can simultaneously function as mirrors of society and means to change it for the better. These are some of the questions we will ask: How does participation in required team sports affect a child’s development in both positive and negative ways? How do team sports reinforce societal and gendered norms? In what ways can they instead be used to challenge those norms? What does it mean to be a good team player, within and without sports? How do our experiences as a part of teams impact our subsequent social relations? Should we adopt a more team-centric outlook in our daily lives, prioritizing collective over individual goals? How does the participation in or the watching of sports contribute to the formation of our individual identities? 😍 😑 "

🌟 For International Women's Day 2024, we want to highlight the incredible women who work here at Support Warehouse. Meet Shauna, our proud sponsored member from our Finance Team who currently plays for the Women’s Warrington Wolves rugby team.
We asked Shauna some questions about her experiences being a woman in rugby and how it has impacted her life.
When asked about the level of support and investment in women's sports compared to men's sports, Shauna remarked, “The investment into women’s sports has definitely gained momentum. This year, in particular, I’ve noticed a fantastic surge in clubs backing women’s sports. It’s an exciting time to be involved!”
Shauna also highlighted the impact of increased visibility and coverage of women's sports on younger generations, stating, “The Challenge Cup semi-finals and finals have significantly boosted the visibility of the sport, reaching audiences worldwide. Viewing our sport on platforms like Sky is incredibly positive and demonstrates to younger generations that rugby league can be a career, not just a hobby!”
Although progress is being made in the exposure and investment of women’s sports teams, there is still a long way to go to ensure that every athlete, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to succeed.

Today is National Girls and Women in Sports day, which is rather timely as yesterday, I was talking about organising a networking event but around sports. Would any of my contacts be interested in a sporty networking event, could be tag rugby, netball or even football. Let me know what sport excites you and I'll look to organising in the Spring. #sportsbusiness#leedsbusiness#womeninbusiness
🚨 The Madness Continues…
Imagine training your whole life, only to have your dreams crushed by someone who doesn’t belong in your race. 🏃♀️
Valentina Petrillo, an Italian sprinter, is making headlines at the Paralympics.
But here's the kicker: until recently, Valentina competed as a man. Yes, you read that right—and quite successfully, by all accounts.
Indeed, if my eyes aren't deceiving me, Valentina remains perfectly well intact in the tackle department.
He recently told an interviewer that competing in the Olympics has been a dream since he was a "little girl." 🤯
Let that sink in… This is the same person who married a woman and fathered two children.
Now, two things need to be said:
1️⃣ This individual needs help. We should offer support, but not at the expense of fairness. Competing against women in this way is not just wrong on all levels. I detest this individual for even thinking his actions are acceptable. 🤢
2️⃣ The sporting governing bodies are failing women. They have been ideologically captured, abandoning the principles of fairness and competition.
For the love of sport, women, stand up and raise your voices! 🗣️
Join Martina, Sharon, and J.K. Rowling—the brave women calling out this insanity. 🛑
Together, you can stop these disgraceful men from ruining your sport.
Stand up. Speak out. Take action. 💪
Women’s sports deserve better.
