A collection of 23 papers, this special issue explores advanced approaches in climate simulation and observation, focusing on extreme climate events, in order to better predict and mitigate the impacts of global climate change on various aspects of society. I really enjoyed participating in the panel discussion. My favourite take-away: "acceptance" has multiple dimensions. When mentioning "acceptance", we often refer to the public acceptance towards technological and behavioural aspects. What we discussed in this round: how to generate acceptance towards a specific methodology when dealing with scarcity of space and water? A common understanding would significantly increase the synergy potential between the actors of the energy system.

Scientists have been warning about the dangers of greenhouse gases for more than half a century. The fossil-fuel industry has worked for decades to deny both climate science and its own history. Another conference paper accepted! Dear connections, I am happy to share that our 13th conference paper from my PhD has been accepted for presentation. This paper is on coupled groundwater-climate change modeling to estimate the hazard index of groundwater droughts. This is a unique and first-of-its-kind research to work on predicting future groundwater levels and droughts under climate change. #climatechange #groundwater #modeling #droughts #conferencepaper
