📃Scientific paper: Lagrange top: integrability according to Liouville and examples of analytic solutions Abstract: The Euler-Poisson equations for the Lagrange top are derived on the basis of a variational problem with kinematic constraints. The Hamiltonian structure of these equations is established using the intermediate formalism presented in the recent work arXiv:2302.12423. General solution to the equations of motion is reduced to the calculation of four elliptic integrals. Several solutions in terms of elementary functions are presented. 📃Scientific paper: Decomposition of Geometric Graphs into Star Forests Abstract: We solve a problem of Dujmovi\'c and Wood \(2007\) by showing that a complete convex geometric graph on $n$ vertices cannot be decomposed into fewer than $n-1$ star-forests, each consisting of noncrossing edges. This bound is clearly tight. Vector navigation is a computional strategy employed by Cataglyphis (Desert ants) to measure their steered angles and distances, which they then use to return to their base. This discovery was led by Professor Rudiger Wehner, a #KingFaisalPrize laureate in Science 2008.

Very happy to share our latest paper exploring the role of Photoperiod-1 during inflorescence development, published in Current Biology, a huge thank you to all co-authors! https://lnkd.in/d3PcXAtN A key result was discovering two transcription factors that control spike architecture and flowering time: PDB1 delays flowering and spikelet termination, and ALOG1 blocks inflorescence branching and slows flowering. Making for some very pretty wheat inflorescences

The book is a breezy read, with a "Further Reading" section providing references to more scholarly resources with in-depth studies.
