Bayobab is celebrating World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. Technology is the backbone of modern life, with networks and devices everywhere relying on the digital infrastructure ecosystem. Every digital engagement we have is supported by the digital infrastructure that enables connectivity across the world. In Africa, almost a third of the population remain unconnected lacking access to the internet. Bayobab is committed to bridging this digital divide through universal connectivity and sustainable digital transformation. There are many platforms dedicated to advancing digital innovation for sustainable development and growth. In the wholesale infrastructure industry, influencing agendas and initiatives is paramount. Bayobab is proud to be a member of the Global Leaders' Forum (GLF), with our CEO serving as the Vice Chair, influencing the community's strategic agenda. We are also active members of the Innovative Operators, addressing roaming connectivity challenges within that ecosystem. In the early 16th century in the United States, small businesses were fundamental to the American colonies' economies. These businesses included blacksmiths, cobblers, and general stores. The 20th century was a transformative period for (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) MSMEs in America. These businesses played a crucial role in the economy, adapting to various technological, social, and economic changes. In the 21st century, these enterprises are fundamental to economic growth, innovation, job creation, and community development in America. Globally, MSMEs play a critical role in creating the 600 million jobs needed to meet the demands of a growing global workforce by 2030, contributing 50% to the GDP. Now to Africa 🌍! Africa stands at a pivotal moment in history, poised to become the next global economic powerhouse. This transformation is driven by a combination of demographic trends, economic reforms, technological advancements, and increased investment. Unlocking the power of MSMEs across Africa will take more than capital. These businesses have the potential to create over 60 million jobs for the continent in less than a decade (by 2034) and contribute over $1 trillion to the global economy. The real power lies in closing the education and connection gap, leveraging local and international expertise for long-term prosperity. Let's invest in knowledge, networks, and growth to drive sustainable development across Africa. At WECO Africa, we aim to close this gap by investing in high-quality resources, forming strategic partnerships, and leveraging existing programs to support MSMEs for the long term. Our approach includes bundling these services into a subscription-based model and offering an intensive 3-4 month program for top-tier and high-growth entrepreneurs in Africa, with up to $50,000 in funding as a grant or SAFE for top performers beginning in August of this year. Are you interested in partnering with us to transform Africa by supporting MSMEs across the continent?
