Pink Media is targeted on Twitter (now called "X") and de-platformed for being exceptionally good at community building. Through their network of profiles they garnered an international audience, and built a loyal community based on authenticity and relevance. On the business collaboration side of things, the article shows how they also developed campaigns that generated many millions of views for their clients, making tremendous impact even with incredibly modest promotional budgets. "However, we realize that during this divisive and politically-charged year, we may have gotten too good in our reach and exposure on a platform that is owned by an individual who has made clear he would like to suppress these same LGBTQ voices. It might also be time to accept the fact that in this era of emboldened autocrats and big-tech kings, we’ll have to be even more creative in how we continue keep our voices alive and at the forefront now and over the next few years. In the meantime, if you can, feel free to let our LGBTQ community know what has happened, share this far and wide, especially on X, where we know a lot of the LGBTQ community may be wondering what has happened to the #ILoveGay network and perhaps thinking they may be next." This is a chilling example of the intended impact of programs like "Project 2025" where the goal is silencing LGBTQ voices and community. This puts folks doing work in media, social and reproduct.ive justice, s. xuality education, wellness, and pleasure right there on the front lines of freedom of speech and access to information. This was never about "protecting youngsters". Remember this next time someone wants to claim "free market capitalism" only cares about money and merit.
X (formerly Twitter) Bans Pink Media & #ILoveGay Network, suppressing over 1 Million LGBTQ Voices. Who’s Next?
