I’m a big Atlanta Falcons fan! 🏈 If you’re still with me after that statement… When was the last time you took a huge risk in a professional setting? My guess is the answer to that question for Falcons’ Head Coach Arthur Smith is… yesterday. With time winding down in their game against the Green Bay Packers, his team down by 2 points, they were driving and only needed a field goal to take the lead. There was a huge 4th down looming, in field goal range, Smith decided to go for it! So instead of kicking the field goal that would have potentially given them the lead, the more sure-fire choice and one most people in his position would have made, Smith took a big risk and elected to go for it! I and I’m pretty sure many other Falcons’ fans were a nervous wreck when we realized he was really going to keep the offense on the field instead of bringing out the kicking team, but you know what? THEY CONVERTED THE FOURTH DOWN! 👏 So now, not only does their kicker have an “easier” field goal, but they leave their opponent with little to no time on the clock to come back. FINAL OUTCOME: THE FALCONS WIN! 🎉 When was the last time you bet on yourself and your team the way Arthur Smith did on Sunday? How often do you trust yourself and your team enough to take a big risk for the betterment of the final outcome? My heart is still racing from that play and that choice, but my Falcons flag is flying proudly today because of it!
