Data suggests women are safer drivers than men but in the trucking industry pay equity gap, recruitment policies, work-life balance and perceptions of the industry mean they only represent 3% of truck drivers. At IVECO, we believe in parity as the only way to drive the road of change, all together. #IVECO #IWD #socialsustainability

Leading teams in driver recruiting, offering assistance to drivers to help them secure positions that suit their needs and exceed their expectations,
so here's a little insight from a woman in trucking who works WITH women in trucking. A lot of people talk about their initiatives to create an environment that supports and encourages female drivers. Is it all talk though? What are we doing to actually SUPPORT women on the road? Do they get time to stop to use the facilities? Are the facilities safe? Are the rest stops secure with video surveillance to ensure that women get back to their rigs? Do we allow for stops (without question) for women to handle feminine issues? Do we talk about their mental health in regard to being away from their families? Do we discuss with WOMEN how they feel about being under represented or disrespected from an operational standpoint, in specific cases? Do we make sure that there is secure, safe, reputable parking for them on their breaks? Do we offer advancement opportunities to women who ask if there is more to this business than driving? Do we require female trainers to take male students or vice versa? Asking for a friend..... #driversafety #womenintrucking #femalecdldrivers #tellmeyourstory #classacdldrivers #driverrecruiting #drivermanager

They insisted that they only hired, “the best driver.” However, over the years we’ve learned that women experience the trucking industry differently than men. While many of the challenges are the same, women prioritize things differently. Based on data from both the Women In Trucking Association’s WIT Index as well as information supplied by the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) and Tenstreet regarding retention, here are nine things you may not know about female professional drivers. https://lnkd.in/eDdrirHu
