Our Assistant Head of School and Head of Upper School, Ben Farrell, was featured in a National Association of Independent Schools piece. In his article, he wrote about emerging tech in the classroom. In fall 2022, NEIA observed a growing interest in generative AI among students, sparking concerns about its impact on creativity and originality. The school adopted a human-centered design approach, engaging students in discussions about AI's role and potential. By integrating AI as a supportive tool rather than a replacement, NEIA aims to enhance education and prepare students for a technology-driven future. Check out this well-written piece here by our Assistant Head of School and Head of Upper School to explore how NEIA embraces generative AI in education, providing insights on balancing innovation with maintaining originality and ethical considerations. There are just a couple of days left until the AI in Education: Cut Through the Noise event at Epsom College, where I will be keynoting. The event will explore how we can use AI to innovate our teaching practices and have a real impact on outcomes whilst keeping AI accessible for all. Through the use of three case studies, I will explore how the deployment of AI by thousands of educators is already driving economic growth for the benefit of all of us. In-person tickets have now sold out, but the event will be livestreamed. Book your online place here: https://lnkd.in/eAjBq4VF If you've got other compelling examples of educators using AI in a high-impact way, let me know (in the comments below), we are seeking to draw attention to best practice far and wide. #AIinEducation #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #EdTech #EpsomCollege Founders4Schools, Maths4Girls, Superpower, Raspberry Pi Foundation

So proud every day to support this always forward thinking university, "We all must engage with AI in a scholarly fashion: with curiosity about something that can speak like a human; with humility that many of our cherished ideas may indeed need to be revised; with caution that some technologies of the past have minimised our humanity and increased inequities; but finally, with the ambition that we can make AI speak to the better angels of our nature." I've been waiting to get my hands on this! UNESCO has just released its draft AI Competency Framework for Teachers and School Students. This, and the Guidance for generative AI in education and research, helps us to think beyond how to use GenAI in education and towards the more significant implications for education. Ignoring the transformational impact of GenAI is like Blockbuster Video pretending Netflix doesn't exist. #genai #digitallearningweek #digitallearning #aieducation #education #edtech #ai

I love this!!!!!! It is Integral to student learning to understand that AI is coded to provide innacurate data and should be understood as an emerging technology source which will soon be normalised just as siri was. The importance to understand that in education AI is not a primary source of learning ❗️ ❗️ ❗️ needs to be stressed. SouthPark already made an episode on how chat gpt ruined Stan’s relationship and wrote a paper unoriginal to Cartman’s strong sense of self. This new age tool will soon be preceded by greater creations(sorry elon but im sure you will cook up something better and i watched the interview where you said you purposely coded it so lazy people will stay knowledge poor). Greater knowlege is found in searching up and reading academic journals/books rather than a Google wiki search(which is what AI does)(we learnt about primary and secondary sources in primary school😂). The diary entry by the historian is always more potent than the altered propaganda text book…. I am so grateful in becoming a teacher in this day and age of new and evolving teaching pedagogies that reveal just how beneficial inquiry learning through digital technologies when used correctly to construct new knowledge. Humans from multiple walks of life are able to communicate and connect better than ever. But in order to develop better technological advancements and genuine practice.. Making it known that AI diminishes student voice and individualistic creativity stresses the importance of agency, own learning and minds, way more valuable than gold for the betterment of societies future 🤍

We’re excited to be featured in District Administration discussing the perspectives of school administrators on AI in education. Our recent study found that many district administrators have a positive view of AI’s ability to relieve teachers’ burdens and engage students in learning. However, administrators are also looking for more guidance and policies related to AI. “Districts are willing to integrate AI into their classrooms, but currently lack the proper resources, governance, and training needed to do so successfully,” said Sari Factor, Chief Strategy Officer at Imagine Learning. “It’s a collective call to action, urging us to work alongside policymakers and education organizations to craft guidelines that ensure AI’s integration is as responsible as it is transformative.” Check out the article: https://bit.ly/3HxYdgQ #AI #AIinEducation #FutureofLearning #EmpowerPotential #EducationTrends #GenAI #Innovation

I'm getting ready to facilitate a Faculty Teaching and Learning Community (TaLC) at Georgia State University on AI in the classroom. So far, I have 18 participants (3X the usual!), and I am looking forward to sharing and learning from one another about using AI in the classroom this year. I thought you might like to see a snapshot of how they have answered the survey questions about #AI in their classrooms so far. It's just a small snapshot, but it is so interesting!! #AI #GAI #highereducation #TeachingwithAI #Faculty #facultydevelopment #perimetercollege #GSU

In a recent symposium hosted by MIT Open Learning, education leaders sought out to explore how generative AI has began to transform schools and education alike, and where we will begin to see new shifts in this landscape. From making a more equal and accesible approach to education, to allowing students to focus more on skills that are important to them, the future of education and learning is changing in exciting ways. https://ow.ly/Yscu50QrfAo #servicedesign #ai #humancentricai
What will the future of education look like in a world with generative AI?
