The transition from Universal Analytics to GA4 brings noteworthy changes to Google Analytics, revolutionising the way data is collected and insights are derived. The shift to an event-based model enables more accurate user and session reporting, ensuring a comprehensive view of user behaviour across devices and touchpoints. This means you can better understand user engagement and avoid inflated bounce rates caused by certain interactions. With Google's minimalist approach to reports, it's time to embrace intelligent decision-making and focus on future actions rather than solely relying on retrospective data. Data Studio and GA4 allow for setting up dashboards to analyse top-line metrics, while the real value lies in leveraging insights to drive meaningful outcomes. Stay informed, adapt to the changes, and make data-driven decisions to maximise the potential of GA4. #GoogleAnalytics #GA4 #DataDrivenDecisions

Its official - Universal Analytics is coming to an end! For all the doubters, the resistants, or simply the lazy ones. The time has come to embrace change and fully adopt GA4. Starting July 1, 2023, you’ll still be able to access your standard Universal Analytics properties in your account, but only for historical reporting, which will be available until July 1, 2024. No future data will be available in reporting, your audiences will no longer add users, and the products you’ve linked with Universal Analytics will stop receiving data. Failing to fully migrate to GA4 might compromise your measurement setup, but most importantly you will be less prepared for new era of Predictive Marketing. Don't miss out and make sure you are prepared! Read more about it in the blog post bellow. #GA4 #GoogleAnalytics #UniversalAnalytics #AnalyticsSunset

what's a key difference between google analytics 4 properties and universal analytics properties? A key difference between Google Analytics 4 (GA4) properties and Universal Analytics properties lies in their approach to user tracking and data modeling. In Universal Analytics, user tracking is primarily based on sessions and cookies. Each user is identified by a unique client ID, and data is organized around sessions, making it more event-centric. In GA4, the focus shifts towards an event-centric and user-centric model. GA4 introduces the concept of events as the foundation for data collection, emphasizing user interactions over sessions. It also employs a more flexible and dynamic user identifier, allowing for better cross-platform and cross-device tracking without heavy reliance on cookies. Furthermore, GA4 introduces an event parameter model, making it easier to collect and analyze specific details about user interactions. This shift in approach reflects the evolving needs of digital marketing and provides a more holistic view of user engagement across various touchpoints. Overall, GA4 is designed to offer more flexibility, adaptability to changing user behaviors, and a comprehensive understanding of the user journey compared to the session-centric approach of Universal Analytics. #GoogleAnalytics4 #GA4 #GA4Implementation #GA4Tracking #GA4Events #GA4Setup #GoogleAnalyticsUpgrade #GA4DataCollection #UserCentricAnalytics #CrossPlatformTracking #EnhancedMeasurement #GA4Reports #AnalyticsDashboard #EventParametersGA4 #GA4Audience #GA4UserExplorer #GA4MobileAnalytics #RealTimeAnalytics #GA4BigQueryExport #GA4Tips #DigitalAnalytics #EcommerceAnalyticsGA4 #GA4Training #GA4Certification #MarketingAnalyticsGA4 #GA4Consulting #DataRetentionGA4 #GA4Trends #AnalyticsInsightsGA4 #GA4BestPractices

How GA4 differs from Universal GA? Google Analytics 4 is a complete redesign of Universal Analytics from the ground up. In GA4 there are no views - only properties - and fewer reports available. One of the biggest changes in Google Analytics 4 is the way it handles the measurement model. Instead of Sessions and page views to track data, it now uses events and parameters. Basically, every activity that a user carries out is now classified as an event. For instance, a page view is an event that comes with detailed information like location and time, which are stored in parameters. Similar to how most advanced CDPs work. The new reporting system empowers you to create more advanced analysis and specific funnels based on any event captured in the analytics. In this way, you can obtain a more comprehensive understanding of what your users are doing across various devices and platforms. You can think of each data stream in GA4 as a raw view in Universal Analytics. While views are no longer available in GA4, filters can be applied at the property level. There has been a few changes in how sessions are triggered and sustained. But the biggest one is that Sessions will be more consistent and won't restart at midnight or when a new campaign parameters are encountered. The next big change is also the unification of goals and ecommerce transactions. Both of them now became conversions. Basically you specify a conversion event for each action that you want to count as a conversion. For example, if you specify that the form submit is a conversion event, then a conversion will be registered each time a user submits the form. Unlike Universal Analytics which only counted one conversion during the session, GA4 will count them as many times as the event is triggered. One of the most interesting parts of GA4 is also the predictive metrics. Google provides you with a tool to better predict the future behaviour of your users. This tool provides metrics such as purchase probability, churn probability, and revenue probability. Google has also updated engagement metrics by adding a new set of attributes: engage sessions, engage sessions per user, engagement rate, and engagement time. There is no bounce rate anymore. Instead, it is the inverse of engagement rate. There are many other minor changes in how things work, get measured, or are reported in GA4. #ecommerce #data #google
