🚀 There’s a new episode in our interview series with Dr. Trevor Brown! 🚀 In our latest YouTube release, Trevor interviews TMS expert Dr. Jonathan Downar, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Downar delves into the neural mechanisms underlying resilience, survival, and their connection to effective depression treatments like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). 🧠 This insightful conversation is valuable for healthcare professionals seeking to understand TMS's practical implications and the neural circuitry of resilience, and for patients wanting to learn how TMS therapy complements these innate mechanisms of the brain. 👉 Watch the full interview here and be sure to subscribe to our channel: https://lnkd.in/eQqQScjS #mentalhealth #TMS #neurocare #psychiatry #neuroscience #depressiontreatment #podcast #healthcareinnovation

The Power of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in Treating Depression In the battle against depression, a revolutionary treatment is silently making waves. Meet Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a therapy that's changing lives for individuals struggling with "treatment-resistant depression." Dr. Suzanna Jasberg , Senior Director of Adult Psychiatry at Ellie Mental Health, is a staunch advocate for TMS, an FDA-approved therapy that's been available for over a decade. TMS works by delivering pulses to target the neural circuitry of the brain, reinvigorating it and helping the brain utilize neurotransmitters effectively. Although it requires 30-minute sessions daily for six weeks, the results are remarkable. Nearly 70% of TMS patients report a significant reduction in symptoms, with some experiencing a 50 to 100% improvement. #tms #tmstherapy #brainhealth #brainstimulation #depression #depressionawareness #depressiontreatment #depressionhelp https://lnkd.in/eu3FdY-z

Yale Study Explores Cognitive Enhancement of rTMS for Alcohol Use Disorder An innovative study titled “Enhancing the Effects of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on Alcohol Cue Reactivity With Cognitive Strategies” spearheaded by Yale University Psychiatry faculty, was awarded a grant by the Center for the Translational Neuroscience of Alcoholism (CTNA) for the 2024-25 pilot project. Vaughn R. Steele, PhD, alongside co-principal investigators Hedy Kober, PhD, and Godfrey Pearlson, MD, MA, aims to elevate the effectiveness of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in treating alcohol use disorder (AUD). This groundbreaking research will explore the potential of combining rTMS with cognitive strategies, specifically a reduction of craving task (ROC-T), to diminish alcohol cue reactivity and cravings in individuals undergoing treatment for AUD. Through this study, the team anticipates developing a more effective approach for AUD treatment and enhancing rTMS applications in clinical settings. #tms #tmstherapy #alcoholaddiction #brainhealth #psychiatry #psychiatrist #alcoholusedisorder https://lnkd.in/eXfTqN_e

How the brain links pronouns to memory: The brain’s ability to effortlessly link pronouns to the correct person in a sentence is remarkable. Imagine reading: “Donald Trump and Kamala Harris walked into the bar, she sat down at a table.” Instantly, you know it was Kamala Harris who sat, not Donald Trump. #Pronouns #Memory #BrainPower #Hippocampus #BrainsHippocampus #CognitivePower #PronounPerception #EarthDotCom #EarthSnap #Earth
