Using the digitization responsibly in benefit of the EU citizens and businesses is an integral part of our corporate culture. To that end, we are excited to announce that we have completed the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE-TCG) flagship project “Digital Map”, a milestone project regarding the creation of an integrated information system that combines and systemizes geospatial institutional information in a single web-based platform. Yesterday, the project was presented to the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis in an event organized by the Technical Chamber of Greece at Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Hungry to know more about Demand-Responsive Transport (#DRT) and its key elements? Then you are interested to DREAM_PACE´s report “State of the art report on digital and operational approaches for DRT in the pilot areas” Full report at https://lnkd.in/eSwwqzA5 Overall, the document emphasizes the diversity of approaches and the collaborative efforts to address challenges and promote the integration of #DRT into broader transportation systems. Said so, the report focuses on key aspects such as territory and mobility context, existing services (public transport and #DRT services), and operational models, aiming to identify gaps and specificity. The findings represent the basis for drafting scenarios for the development and enhancement of #DRT services within the co-design process. The results are also applied in the 6 Living Lab of DREAM_PACE: in Bologna Metropolitan City (SRM), Budapest, Oltrepò Pavese (AG) and Split-Dalmatia County (SDC), DREAM_PACE has the efforts to better integrate DRT and public transport in a #MaaS logic; Osttirol and Stuttgart areas focus on the development of coordinated DRT networks enhancing accessibility in peripheral and rural regions. We're pleased to share significant policy news out of Europe with a revised ITS Directive recently adopted by the Council of Ministers of the EU. What is the ITS Directive? The ITS Directive is a legal framework to harmonize and accelerate the adoption of ITS across the EU road transport system in order to improve the functioning of road transport and its interfaces with other transport modes. What's new? According to the Council of EU's official statement, "the revised directive aims to take account of technological developments, such as connected and automated mobility, on-demand mobility applications, and multimodal transport." Want to know more? There are many significant developments in the updated Directive. You can read the official statement from the Council of the EU at https://lnkd.in/eXyZRfvP or you can follow the link below to read the statement from our friends at ERTICO - ITS Europe.
It’s a wrap 📢 The revised ITS Directive was adopted yesterday by the Council of Ministers of the EU after an agreement with the European Parliament. This is a very important piece of legislation for our community and we are pleased to welcome the final adoption which confirms the significant role of technology and the data economy in advancing the mobility and transport sectors. It also reaffirms its role as the European legislative backbone of various national, regional and local mobility initiatives where technology and data sharing are the key components. The Directive accelerates and better coordinates ITS deployment in order to improve the functioning of road transport and its interfaces with other transport modes. Safety, sustainability and congestion reduction are the targets of the coordinated deployment of ITS in the EU. Based on the legal framework set by the ITS Directive, the European Commission has introduced legally binding specifications for interoperability and continuity through delegated acts, such as the SRTI and the RTTI. Together with our public and private partners, we stand by to work together with the Commission to deliver on the deployment of ITS throughout the European Union. 📑 Read more about the official statement: https://lnkd.in/ePC5RVGi Joost VANTOMME, Dr. Johanna (Yanna) Tzanidaki, Vladimir Vorotovic FCILT DFRS - Data For Road Safety, NAPCORE, TN-ITS (https://tn-its.eu/), TM 2.0 (https://tm20.org/), MaaS Alliance, TISA - Traveller Information Services Association , PrepDSpace4Mobility, ITS Nationals Network

If you can contribute to this important work - please do. Understanding the economic impact of geospatial is an imperative to future conversations around skill development, sector investment, scale and growth. If you’d like more information, or a conversation to understand the study further - please reach out. #gca #geospatial #spatial
✨ As you may already know, GCA in collaboration with government and industry partners, has teamed up with ACIL Allen for a groundbreaking economic study on the impact of geospatial information and technology on the Australian economy. This first-of-its-kind study since 2008 gains added importance in navigating the post-pandemic landscape. 📚 To undertake this important work, we are requesting that organisations that operate within the geospatial ecosystem submit case studies to us for use in the modelling to determine the value of geospatial information. Case studies that also describe their impact, either economic, or societal, are being sought as a priority. 🌏💡 For submission details, please visit: https://bit.ly/3RQHWbE Please support this important initiative which will in turn support the process of educating the government, influencing policy, and increasing the awareness of the importance of geospatial to the national economy and society in general. #GeospatialImpact #EconomicStudy #CollaborateForChange #Geospatial

The Dutch Digital Heritage Network (Netwerk Digitaal Erfgoed) asked us to build Solid CRS. This open-source collection management system allows small heritage institutions to store information about their collection in their own solid pod. 👉 This eliminates the need for spreadsheets 👉 This makes all the information more easily accessible 👉 This ensures it's being preserved for future use. Find out why Solid was the ultimate solution for Enno Meijers, CTO at Netwerk Digitaal Erfgoed in our video below. #webid #solid #datapod
