Prowein 2024. What can be said other than that it was slow? The halls were filled with comments saying 'it's too expensive; vinexpo is better; the hotels in Paris are cheaper; the flights to Paris are cheaper and more abbundant; Paris is more fun than Düsseldorf (and let's not forget that for the second year in a row there were strikes that made things more difficult.) I tend to differ in this opinion. It's not that Vinexpo is better than Vinitaly or Prowein or otherwise. The real problem is that the wine business only needs one major international fair per year...not three. I don't care where this fair is. Another option is that they give wineries the opportunities to sign up every other year rather than every year. The fair organizer need to realize that their ultimate client is the fairgoer. I understand that a lot of money enters into the city thanks to Vinitaly/Prowein/Vinexpo, but if the fair doesn't have a positive cost benefit, then we fairgoers will invest in other ways. If they don't give us more options to increase our investments, then we will abandon them. We are in a post covid world and ready to rethink our investments. #prowein #vinitaly #vinexpo #dusseldorf

France is the world champion of gastronomy, yet its trade balance is in deficit when it comes to exports 📉 How can we explain this underperformance? ➰ Export culture isn't dominant, even though it's a significant growth driver. ➰ Not enough competitiveness in the face of strong international competition. ➰ The agri-food sector has been trapped in an image of "gastronomy" and "Michelin-starred chefs." Last April, I had the opportunity to proudly represent SIAL Paris with UNIMEV during the latest meeting of the Ev&Terr Club. 𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐎 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒 2023, a decidedly complex year for the wine market, is not yet over, and companies and trade fair players are already looking towards a 2024 which everyone hopes will be a full relaunch. Kicking off the big fairs will be 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬 & 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬, edition no. 5, on stage from 12 to 14 February at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with the flagship show of the Vinexposium group. The French fair is 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 and is increasingly establishing itself internationally as one of the great reference fairs for the wine scene. For the 2024 edition the 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠: a 72% growth in terms of participation of international exhibitors, 50 producing countries and a 28% increase in exhibition spaces.
