Our subsidiary company Biospinout One has been chosen for step two in the innovative acquisition of fossil-free playground surfacing for Oslobygg KF i Oslo kommune and the Bymiljøetaten i Bergen. ⚒️🌾 After a year of testing, failing, and learning, this year we'll prototype in-situ models and find an optimal production process for a product that'll enhance biodiversity and soil health. While the two biggest cities in Norway are enabling this biomaterial innovation, the long-term goal is to make this product available throughout Europe. (FI/EN) Tampere laski luontojalanjälkensä ensimmäisenä kaupunkina Suomessa. 🌱 Laskentamenetelmä, jonka kaupunki räätälöi yhdessä Jyväskylän yliopiston kanssa, on vapaasti myös muiden kaupunkien hyödynnettävissä. Tulos esittää ensimmäistä kertaa suuren kaupunkiorganisaation luonnon monimuotoisuudelle tuottaman haitan. Tampere haluaa olla edelläkävijä luonnon ja ilmaston monimuotoisuuden vaalijana. Organisaation luontojalanjäljen laskenta mahdollistaa entistä strategisemmat tavoitteet ja toimenpiteet luontokadon pysäyttämiseksi. Kaupungin luontojalanjälki on 557 nPDF ja hiilijalanjälki 207 763 t. Luontojalanjäljessä näkyvät erityisesti elintarvikkeet, lämmön kulutus ja rakentaminen. The biodiversity footprint includes in particular food, heat consumption and construction. Heat consumption contributes one fifth of the carbon footprint. The calculation method, tailored with the University of Jyväskylä, is also available for other cities.
