Great day out with the Promar International Sustainability Team visiting the Genus PLC Bull Stud in Wales. Today we learnt: 🐂 More dairy farmers are changing their breeding policies to increase sexed semen on their top performing cows and heifers, with more beef genetics going on the remainder of the herd 🐂 Greater focus on traits such as calving ease, feed efficiency and fertility over purely productive selection 🐂 Increase semen quality and quantity though maintaining thermo-neutral conditions during semen collection 🐂 Increase genomic proved bulls with improvements in youngstock management, animal health and welfare, and rigorous indices ranking 🐂 Greater demand for Wagyu bulls My personal highlight was seeing the excellent quality of enrichment for the in-house bulls! #sustainableagriculture

Fusaric Acid is produced by Fusarium mold species and typically affects corn, barley, wheat and corresponding silages. The toxicity of Fusaric Acid is increased when detected in combination with other mycotoxins such as DON, and may significantly impact animal health, feed intake or refusal. This may consequentially lead to poor animal growth, and reduced farm yields.
