Data Analyst #Interview Questions asked by JPMorgan Chase Topics asked from: SQL, Data Warehousing , Financial Analysis, Risk Assessment, Data Security Q1: How do you ensure data consistency and integrity in a data warehousing environment? Ans: I implement data validation checks, use constraints like primary and foreign keys, and ensure that ETL processes have error-handling mechanisms. Regular audits and data reconciliation processes are also set up to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Q2: Describe a situation where you had to design a star schema for a data warehousing project. Ans: For a retail sales data warehousing project, I designed a star schema with a central fact table containing sales transactions. Surrounding this were dimension tables like Products, Stores, Time, and Customers. This structure allowed for efficient querying and reporting of sales metrics across various dimensions. Q3: How would you use data analytics to assess credit risk for loan applicants? Ans: I'd analyze the applicant's financial history, including credit score, income, employment stability, and existing debts. Using predictive modeling, I'd assess the probability of default based on historical data of similar applicants. This would help in making informed lending decisions. Q4: Describe a situation where you had to ensure data security for sensitive financial data. Ans: While working on a project involving customer transaction data, I ensured that all data was encrypted both at rest and in transit. I also implemented role-based access controls, ensuring that only authorized personnel could access specific data sets. Regular audits and penetration tests were conducted to identify and rectify potential vulnerabilities.

Analytics @ Citi | Data Engineer | NIT Trichy | Python, Spark, SQL, Azure, Databricks, Big Data, Data Lake, ETL and SAS
When I started my first job as a Data Analyst: ➡️ Had zero domain knowledge about the bank. ➡️ Didn't know much SQL; understanding subqueries was a nightmare. ➡️ Had never heard of SAS before. ➡️ All the codebase looked confusing. And this has been the case with most new things I have started. Everything seems difficult initially, but things get better when you start spending time on it. #Bigdata #DataAnalyst #DataEngg #Work #Motivation #Life #FirstJob #SQL

***30 Days SQL Challenge: Day 7*** Category: Easy Website: DataLemur 🐒 (Ace the SQL & Data Interview) by Nick Singh 📕🐒 Company: JPMorgan Chase & Co. Here to get the difference between the number of highest issuance cards and the lowest issuance cards, I used two aggregate functions MAX() and MIN() respectively to calculate the maximum and minimum values. Then subtracted the result of MIN() from that of the MAX() which is eventually the difference in the number of issued cards in those two months. Grouped this result by the card names to get that value of the difference for each card. Finally ordered the resultant rows according to the value of the difference in descending order according to the question. #sql #sqlqueries #dataanalytics #dataanalysis #dataanalyst #data #jpmorganchase #30daysofcodechallenge #30daysofcode #datascience

In 2019 I went for a Data Analyst interview with HSBC bank, I had ZERO banking experience and very little data experience. But I still got the job and a $80k salary. Here’s a few things that helped me succeed: - Understanding of Data Quality issues, one of the technical questions I was asked was directly related to data quality (I cover this in the video) - my knowledge of data visualisation theory even though I had little experience. - my approach to working with stakeholders across all levels in a business and how best to communicate with them. Don’t fail in your next interview, learn from my mistakes and successes instead. #data #dataanalytics #interviews #datainterviews #tableau https://lnkd.in/eqh4Y93e
