Great article today in STAT News by Tara Bannow on health systems, their margins, and future outlook. Together, with Allina Health, we are solving the challenges surrounding patient throughput. In the last year, working together, have saved nearly 25,000 inpatient days, reduced discharge to skilled nursing facilities by 1.61 days, and decreased discharge to home health by a length of .89 days. "To succeed, executives at health systems should think differently, shifting our thinking from an internal hospital operating focus (though that remains important), to a comprehensive strategy that anchors on giving patients the right care setting, at the right time to best meet their care need," Dominica Tallarico,B.S., M.S.,FACHE. Please join us Thursday, September 12th for a Patient Throughput webinar, hosted by Navvis Senior Vice President Tina Pike. Last week, Navvis released the high-performance results of our Patient Throughput and Capacity solution and they are impressive: ◼ Allina Health, a not-for-profit health system in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, has saved 24,808 inpatient days, reduced discharge to skilled nursing facilities (SNF) length of stay by 1.61 days, and decreased discharge to home health length of stay by 0.89 days. ◼ Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health, experienced a 58% decrease in long-term acute care hospital ACO spend, an 18% reduction in SNF episodes, a 2.3 day reduction in SNF length of stay, and an 8% decrease in ACO SNF readmission to hospital.
