🌐 ARCTIC CIRCLE -- Forces from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Canada, Denmark, Norway, and the United Kingdom recently concluded high-impact training throughout the pan-Arctic region; a vast area stretching from Alaska all the way across Canada and into Greenland. Arctic Edge 24, a U.S. Northern Command exercise, emphasized integration and Joint Force tactical effectiveness in a variety of chilly scenarios such as: diving, helicopter fast roping, swift insertions, snow mobile tactics, long-range endurance-building movement -- all culminating in the Joint Force responding to a fast-attack submarine event. 🔥 This training epitomizes the nation’s unwavering commitment to maintain an enhanced presence, strengthen cooperative partnerships, and build a more-capable Arctic maritime force. 🌊 Capt. Bill Gallagher, Naval Special Warfare Group TWO Commodore, emphasized his team’s unique capability to conduct complex operations in the water column and maritime domains like the Arctic where presence helps deter aggression and demonstrates the unwavering preparedness to defend the homeland in the Arctic. Naval Special Warfare stands as the nation’s elite maritime special operations force, extending the Fleet’s reach and securing access for the Joint Force in both competition and conflict. 🔱 View entire story here: https://lnkd.in/gg-dC-rq #ArcticEdge24 #SpecialOperations #ArcticSecurity #NavySEALs #NavySWCC #USSOCOM

American macro/geopolitical analyst, investor, & strategic advisor. (My opinions evolve over time. Do your own research. I don’t post investment advice & only accept connection requests from people I already know.)
America needs the logistical ability to defend supply lines & project mass around the world. Rebuilding shipbuilding & sealift capacity will take *many* years to fix. Given the timeline, such an effort may not decide the outcome of the war — other than heavily constraining our ability to project & sustain power overseas. However, at minimum, it will make an enormous difference to the post-war balance of power.
In World War II, the U.S. built 18,000 ships in a single year. Our enemies couldn't keep pace. Last year, our Navy built eight, and retired 12. Meanwhile, China now has almost 250 times our shipbuilding capacity. How do we maintain naval deterrence? Smaller, weaponized autonomous vessels. Check out this week's American Optimist episode with former Navy SEAL Dino Mavrookas, CEO of Saronic Technologies.

Presumptive new INDOPACOM boss on China's massive navy: 'We are not overmatched' “We're a joint force that thinks in a multidomain mindset…And that is the kind of formations in maritime terrain, those are forces on land that can affect events that the maritime, that can shoot, move, communicate and impose costs against the [adversary’s] naval force to augment the [U.S.] Navy force at sea. And then further, the 21st century capabilities -- unmanned capabilities from the seabed to the heavens, that can also affect lethal effective fires.” https://lnkd.in/ezZUrrmk

CAMRE continues to break down barriers of what is possible in expeditionary #advancedmanufacturing. Processes traditionally constrained to factories such as heat treatment are being pushed to the edge with the help of individuals like the Naval Postgraduate School’s doctoral candidate LCDR Zachary Vrtis, PE, under the supervision of Dr. Emre Gunduz. These actions are vital for the Defense Industrial Base and successfully completing battle damage repair at sea. Well done by the entire team in support of SALVEX with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)! #additivemanufacturing #irttw https://lnkd.in/ggBB8kbE
