Some readers miss the point entirely of why we perform D&C and we need to work on these perishable skills time and again, when applicable. Its part of your job. The argument against that is not valid. It's part of your job. I'm not telling you that you have to be perfect on a moment's notice unless D&C is your job (honor guard units), but it is PART of your job. When you are assigned to a color guard, or even going up to receive an award or promotion, it becomes the MAIN PART of your job. No one is telling you that your MOS/AFSC requirements are thrown out the window. However, telling me "But, we need 'soldiers' who can do (their job)." I'm well aware and so is everyone else. You wear the uniform and that comes with MANY responsibilities. Do it and stop making excuses. Here's the link: https://lnkd.in/e5gf4h_6 🔆Education is 🔑! . 🔹Read your manuals! My morning read… the famous Navy SEAL training program is based on the experiences and observations of Draper Kauffman while serving as a ambulance driver on the Maginot Line in 1940. Kauffman saw the brotherly team that was the Corps Franc. They were an elite team of volunteers who infiltrated behind enemy lines and disrupted operations. They worked in stealth. Taking that observation Kauffman started a training method that became the SEALs. Importantly Navy SEALS train in teams. The dreaded Log exercise, carrying and moving a 250lb log for 90 minutes, depends on team members being so attuned to each other that when one falters, the team automatically adjusts to carry the load. Think about that. If someone on the team falters everyone else is so completely focussed on the task that they sense that drop and without talking adjust. In our teams do we know each other so well and trust each other so much that when someone falters we simply support in the moment? Debriefing can happen later but in the moment the team adjusts to ensure the job gets done. The foundation is creating cohesion through shared experiences.

Please see #DrillMasterResponse Aurora Composite Squadron CAP. Very few adults, mostly parents, and some cadets will complain about my posting their photo and giving a critique. Some lead to verbal attacks with childish insults and an extreme few end with threats. You few just don't understand and I don't mean that in the dismissive "you don't understand (me)!" immature statement. Not at all. You few do not understand that there are written standards that everyone in uniform must conform to. Your logic of "punish in private!" doesn't hold water. A critique is not punishment. It may be uncomfortable but you can grow from the knowledge gained (or you can be a baby about it). The standards are there for a good reason. There are expectations and responsibilities of the average individual in uniform, whether a cadet or otherwise. Those expectations and responsibilities increase when holding a rifle or flagstaff. No one has been held accountable on a national level, to my knowledge, until I started making these critiques. There are different levels and we all need to work towards the goal of improvement. Levels: very young children are held to the standard of learning. That's it. Their ability to perform comes later. Teens and older, I expect more. Cadet units that have equipment issues, I'm going to tell you that needs to be fixed but you still have to work with what you have as you work to get correct equipment. You are EXPECTED to obtain correct equipment. Military, I expect the highest level of excellence possible with the correct equipment. That's your job when assigned to colors, firing party, etc. ❌The American flag is *NEVER* carried in the middle of the formation. ALWAYS on the right or leading. ❌Wrong staffs. ❌Wrong finials. ❌Cord and tassels not authorized. ❌Hands on staffs. ⭐Guards at outside shoulder. 🔆Education is 🔑! . 🔹Read your manuals! Lead CSHO Arizona Industrial Commission OSHA CSM, CSA, CTS, MTS/ OSHA Outreach Trainer/ Explosives Safety Officer (ESO)
Why is there such a wide gap difference between 1910 and 1926 respectively with regard to Powder Actuated Cartridges? Every time I go out to perform a partnership visit with the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona (HBACA), which represents the residential construction and development industry. I always seem to find a number of powder-actuated Cartridges (Belts of 10) with some cartridges either unexpended or missing. The issue I am having is several of the development sites do not have superior security and thus the neighborhood kids can gain access to these sites and retrieve these unexpended cartridges take them home and create a very dangerous situation that could result in the loss of an eye or fingers or worse. When I first tried to site the Construction company I was told I could not use the standard as it was from the 29CFR1910 which completely spells out from A-Z. whereas the 1926 does not. Having been a former Explosives Safety Officer (ESO) for both the US NAVY (Coronado CA) and Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and (Weapons Field Training Battalion Camp Pendleton CA). As we all know those demonstrations of what Explosive damage from just a pennyweight of explosives can do continue to upset me with the blatant disregard in 1926 for the lack of seriousness of this topic is scarcely covered.

Here's a reminder about the power of language and how it impacts you. #CostelloGroup #Motivational #Advice
Backstory: In 2019 I was training for a 100 mile race. During my training runs I couldn’t break past 38 miles. I didn’t think that was too shabby for someone over 50…. But it wasn’t gunna get me far enough in my race. Then I heard about a Navy Seal named Chad Wright ATTAG. Who taught me the power of the spoken word. That day I shattered my 38 miles, and ultimately used the name strategy to get me over the finish line of a 100 mile race The words you speak matter.
