Have you heard of “ubuntu”? Shola Richards, the guest speaker at our annual Advocacy Stakeholder Summit describes ubuntu as “the height of human kindness, human compassion, and human connectiveness.” Amgen is embracing ubuntu at this year’s Summit as we welcome more than 70 advocacy leaders to share insights and identify ways to better serve patients. In a rapidly changing healthcare landscape, we all have a responsibility to keep human connectiveness at the center of all we do. With this in mind, we are prioritizing topics like 1️⃣ adopting a patient-first approach in the face of the increasing integration of AI and 2️⃣ creating meaningful and sustainable change in health equity. We are grateful for our deep and trusted partnerships with advocacy leaders and can’t wait to make progress together on these challenging topics. 🤝

Head of Roche Pharma International (I7 areas). President of Interpharma. Chair of the Board of Directors City Cancer Challenge Foundation.
Barriers to #access are complex and far-reaching, and every country faces its own unique challenges. At Roche, we are committed to a world where access to quality cancer care is equal for all. As the inspiring examples in this video show, meaningful, sustainable and systemic change is possible. The catalyst for positive change lies in multi-stakeholder partnerships where governments, organisations, healthcare professionals and communities unite behind a common goal. Together with our partners, Roche is proud to have helped establish: - A systematic screening programme to drive earlier diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer in the Philippines, where 11 women die every day of the disease. - Specialist oncology nurse education and training in Indonesia to foster patient-centred care. With the involvement of over 50 partners, the programme has now tripled its reach, leading to a more specialised workforce and improved patient outcomes. - Sustainable financing solutions for and investment in cancer care resulting in many more patients receiving the diagnosis and treatment they need, regardless of economic status, including a new cost-sharing model in Nigeria and support for Georgia’s Universal Health Programme for Oncology. Rooted in partnership and collaboration, each of these initiatives offer hope. At Roche, we remain committed to doing all we can to help #CloseTheCareGap in cancer care and bring about lasting change. #worldcancerday Learn more: https://lnkd.in/d8-D2hSF Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Roche (Philippines) Inc. This year’s #WorldCancerDay is focused on taking meaningful action to #CloseTheCareGap and ensure everyone has access to the quality cancer care they need. Thank you @Joerg-Michael Rupp for shining a light on some of the ways #Roche and our partners are working towards this goal – on World Cancer Day and every day. As advances in science and technology make new and better ways of diagnosis, treating and even curing cancer possible, one of the key challenges the oncology community faces is how we scale up these advances in care so they can benefit everyone who needs them. This is essential for closing the care gap and improving outcomes for the millions of people diagnosed with cancer each year in Europe and beyond. This is why initiatives like OnkoAlliance Slovensko are so important. Slovakia has the second highest mortality rate from cancer in the EU (read more). OnkoAlliance Slovensko was co-founded by Roche to bring together patient organisations, experts and the biotech industry to take action to support the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan in Slovakia. The alliance has generated discussion about equal access to treatment and diagnosis and facilitated exchanges between EU-level experts and national policy- and decision-makers. Furthermore, OnkoAlliance is about to publish a study on the economic benefits of early disease intervention and is partnering with the local Health Ministry to pilot the usage of AI in optimising patient flows to shorten wait times on the patient journey. OnkoAlliance is just one inspirational example of the powerful impact shared ambition and collaboration can have. I urge others working on national cancer plans to join forces across borders and sectors to #CloseTheCareGap and create a world where everyone, everywhere has access to the best possible cancer care. Together, we can make a truly meaningful difference. #CloseTheCareGap #CancerCare #Partnership #Innovation #ValueofInnovation

Please join us in welcoming our newest member We Want Life (WWL). WWL was founded by Esraa, a cancer patient advocate who has worked with thousands of patients since 2011. She gained in-depth experience in five years and learned valuable insights that led to the establishment of WWL. Patients have something to say, patients have useful input for the policy makers. Patients need guidance to say their insights in a useful way. Patients are the end users of the health care system. Patients need a chair at the table where decisions are made. Patients need training and inspiration to be able to earn the chair. Patients need this chair because they need life to be more precious, they need a quality life, so it is time to start our patient advocacy group, because we all want a life! Empowering patients to positively impact the healthcare system in the best possible way. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eGAhf8cp

Emergency has worked in 20 countries and treated over 13 million people. Doing our part, it's been over a year since LSM-Med and Leghe Leggere Lavorate | medical devices | full contract manufacturer began supporting Emergency by supplying our products used in medical aid missions. We are proud of our commitment to aid those in need, helping medical professionals make a significant difference in the lives of many, and recently our CEOs shared their thoughts on our collaborative efforts. 💬 Massimiliano Manobianco, LSM-Med CEO: "When Dr. Marcello Zavatta told me about his extensive experience with Emergency and the passion that drives him to continue dedicating himself wholeheartedly to this 'mission', I didn’t hesitate for a moment to ask what our company could do to support the organisation’s activities. For me, it is a true honour to collaborate with people who dedicate their lives to helping populations in difficulty and to provide high-level devices to alleviate the suffering of patients living in war scenarios and severe economic restrictions. It is important to provide up-to-date equipment and medical devices because no one should be left behind." 💬 Davide Pizzamiglio, Leghe Leggere Lavorate CEO: "The Emergency Project plays a crucial role in the timely response to safeguard human lives. Our collaboration in this endeavor is not just a partnership; it is a testament to how the collective power of many individuals coming together to create change can yield positive and tangible results. Every step we take, every plan we execute, directly contributes to the safety and well-being of countless people, turning uncertainty into security and hope." Now, we invite you to join us in supporting this vital organization.
