Dear ‘Hackers’, are you bored of your job? Maybe you’ve exhausted exploiting buffer overflows, escalating privileges, social engineering, botnets, JS injections, and all those other dirty underhand tricks...
If you find yourself intellectually stagnating, it's probably occurred to you that the natural next step is to try attacking the NP hard problems underpinning public key cryptosystems, but don’t know where to start (with quantum computers, of course!).
On Saturday 12th Aug, I will be giving a tutorial on quantum attacks on so-called quantum-resistant cryptography at Quantum Village DEFCON31. Come down and find out how these mathematical puzzles underpin modern cryptography, design your very own quantum adversary against these next-generation cryptosystems, run it on the D’Wave 5000Q, and ask stupid questions. Then you can call yourself a Real Hacker.
Disclaimer: we probably won’t actually break any cryptosystems, and we have full confidence in quantum-resistant cryptography and the good work folks at NIST are doing to standardize it.
See you there 11am, LINQ 3rd Floor, Quantum Village at #defcon31 Las Vegas. My glamorous assistant will be Ryder LiuLin also of SandboxAQ
FYI if you intend to come, make a free account on D'Wave Leap to get an API access token and 1m of free chip time
