Click Here To Watch What should LGBTQIA Allies Do: https://lnkd.in/dE-qs95B Embracing the vibrant spectrum of love and identity requires more than just acceptance; it demands active allyship. As an LGBTQIA ally, your role is pivotal in fostering a world where everyone is free to be their authentic selves without fear of judgment or discrimination. It's not just about displaying a rainbow flag; it's about standing up against inequality, amplifying marginalized voices, and challenging the status quo. To be a true ally means educating yourself on the diverse experiences within the LGBTQIA community, listening with empathy, and acknowledging that the fight for equality is ongoing. It involves being a visible supporter, not only during Pride Month but every day, and using your privilege to create safe spaces for those who may not have the same privilege. Allyship is an active commitment to dismantling stereotypes, breaking down barriers, and advocating for policy changes that ensure equal rights for all. It's about celebrating love in all its forms, irrespective of gender identity or sexual orientation. Challenge your own biases, engage in uncomfortable conversations, and be willing to learn and grow. Remember, being an ally is not always about grand gestures; sometimes, it's the small, consistent actions that make the most significant impact. From using inclusive language to sharing educational resources, every effort contributes to a more inclusive and compassionate society. In a world that often perpetuates division, let's be the bridge builders, the advocates for change, and the champions of love. Together, let's create a future where everyone, regardless of who they are or whom they love, can live authentically and without fear. 🌈❤️ #LGBTQIAAlly #InclusivityMatters #StandUpForLove Subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/gg_Za58Q #lgbtq #lgbt #gay #pride #loveislove #queer #lesbian #love #instagay #gaypride #bisexual #transgender #trans #gayboy #lgbtqia #lgbtpride #nonbinary #pridemonth #gayman #dragqueen #bi #gaylove #gaymen #gaylife #equality #lgbtcommunity #lovewins #inclusion #diversity #drag

Issue with LinkedIn’s “Connect” Feature 🤝Backgroud: I am currently at GHC, the largest job fair for women and LGBTQ in tech, where almost every attendees display their LinkedIn QR codes for easy connections. ⭕️Issue: The “Connect” feature inconsistently displays the option to connect when viewing a person’s profile, complicating the connection process. (see pic1 and pic2) 👀Observations: • Manually typing names or scanning QR codes results in the same connection process. • The system doesn’t differentiate between 2nd and 3rd connections in this process. There might be a possibility that users have unintentionally adjusted their settings to create these barriers, but if that's the case, it still represents a flawed design coz apparently most users prefer easy connections. Have you also found this issue frustrating? What are the thoughts of LinkedIn’s Product Manager on this? #productmanager #productdesign #linkedinissues #productimprove #linkedinteam #GHC23 #GraceHopperCelebration

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly one in ten LGBTQ individuals faced unemployment, compared to one in twenty non-LGBTQ individuals. However, during the pandemic, the situation worsened: 22% of LGBTQ adults and 24% of LGBTQ adults of color experienced unemployment. These disparities highlight the need for continued efforts to create inclusive workplaces and address economic inequities within the LGBTQ community.

Your professional experience is impressive, but we can only offer you an administrative assistant, case intake associate, or program coordinator position. These responses indirectly imply that they cannot offer the same Senior Director or above role that I had before my transition. This is the typical feedback I receive when attending job fairs or supplier events, even from companies with a 100% HRC Corporate Equality Index (CEI) rating and rainbow flags. Finding employment in the public, private, or nonprofit sector as a member of the LGBTQ community can be challenging. The difficulty increases if you are a queer, trans person of color with disabilities and a veteran. Having faced these challenges, I decided to take action rather than just complain, creating ripples of change. For the first time, I am working with the Workforce Development Board, Human Service Agency, and Diversity Collective—a local nonprofit in our county—to organize a Pride job fair. At this event, employers will be educated on understanding the correct pronouns, authentic names, and gender markers. I will also offer continuous education to ensure retention even after hiring.
