Know the Signs: Heat Stroke and Heat Exhaustion🌡️ As temperatures rise, it's important to recognize the signs of heat-related illnesses. Heat exhaustion symptoms include heavy sweating, weakness, cold or clammy skin, a fast but weak pulse, nausea or vomiting, and fainting. If untreated, heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke, a life-threatening condition. Signs of heat stroke include a high body temperature (above 103°F), hot, red, dry, or damp skin, a rapid and strong pulse, confusion, and unconsciousness. If you or someone else shows symptoms of heat stroke, call 911 immediately and take steps to cool down while waiting for help. Stay safe!

Temperatures are expected to stay in the 90s for the next few days in our communities. This puts everyone at a greater risk for heat-related illnesses. Two of the most common issues during these times are heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat stroke is the most serious heat-related illness. Here are some warning signs to watch for in yourself and other community members: 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐄𝐗𝐇𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 🔴 Dizziness 🔴 Excessive sweating 🔴 Cool, pale skin 🔴 Weakness 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐊𝐄 🔴 Throbbing headache 🔴 No sweating 🔴 Red, hot, dry skin 🔴 Body temperature above 103 degrees 🔴 Losing consciousness If you or anyone you know is experiencing these symptoms, seek immediate medical care.
