Our slogan:"FEEDING, BREEDING and ANIMAL MANAGEMENT; rest is all ARRANGEMENT" Only Feeding constitutes about 70-73% of the recurring cost and about 56-60% of the total costs. In this situation, entering into dairy business needs availability of sufficient fertile land for green fodder cultivation (@about 8-10 animals per acre, provided the land is fertile and crops has been cultivated on the land). Arranging dry fodder at the time of harvest is the most important activity a dairy entrepreneur need to undertake, to arrange the dry fodder on throw-away rates from the paddy, wheat and millet farmers. Our video explains how the feeding of green and dry fodders in desired ratio is essential for achieving the goal of high milk productivity, to maintain desired herd average, good inter-calving period of cows, keeping cows healthy for multiple lactation, keeping heifers healthy and to develop into a good milk producing cows in future. Here are some insights into our Poultry Sector Poultry farming plays a vital role in meeting the growing demand for protein-rich food. In the United Kingdom, over 95% of poultry meat produced is Red Tractor assured, signifying adherence to strict standards of animal welfare, safety, hygiene, and traceability³. Let's delve into key aspects: Biosecurity and Hygiene - Poultry farms prioritize biosecurity to prevent disease outbreaks. Strict hygiene controls ensure clean facilities, minimizing the risk of contamination. Regular veterinary inspections assess bird health, and ante-mortem inspections confirm fitness for slaughter. On-Farm Slaughter - Farmers seeking on-farm slaughter authorization must comply with relevant legislation. Premises must be suitable for hygienic handling and slaughter. Pain and distress during handling are minimized, ensuring bird welfare. The Birds - Uneviscerated birds must meet specific criteria. Compliance with regulations ensures safe consumption. Red Tractor Assurance - The Red Tractor scheme monitors poultry farming practices. Non-compliance leads to removal from the assurance scheme. Remember, responsible poultry farming combines knowledge, compassion, and regulatory compliance. Dairy Cooperative Society, Milk Union, Milk Federation : Relations and Functions 2.1. Relation between DCS, Union and Federation: The basic unit of the Anand Pattern is the village milk producers’ cooperative society. The functions of a dairy cooperative society can be classified into the following two categories: 1. Managerial 2. Operational Managerial The milk producers of the village with the support of the milk union form a village dairy cooperative society. The milk producers become members by buying a minimum of one share of the society and paying an entrance fee as per the bye-laws. All these members form the general body of the society, which has the supreme powers subject to the State Cooperative Act, Rules and Bye-laws. The society has an elected Managing Committee (MC) including the Chairman from amongst the member producers as per the provisions of the bye-laws. All the positions of the MC are honorary. The committee employs paid staff to run the day-to-day affairs of the society. The number of such staff depends upon the size of the business of the society. The provisions of the bye-laws govern the term of the MC and the Chairman of the society. The committee decides policy matters and frames guidelines for efficient running of the society. The committee holds its monthly meetings to discuss issues pertaining to society, members, milk producers, suggestions/guidelines provided by the Milk Union and other relevant matters. Operational The society’s major operations can be classified in two groups: milk trading and providing input services. Milk trading involves reception, testing, local and sample milk sale, dispatch of milk to milk union, payment and accounts keeping. Input services include animal health coverage, breeding, supply of cattle feed, fodder development, clean milk production and extension services to producer members. #gujarat #dairy #management #gcmmf #amul #nddb

Prospects of Hungarian Feed Industry Favorable This Year The prospects for the Hungarian feed industry in 2024 are favorable, according to the announcement of agricultural company group UBM, writes profitline.hu. The decreases experienced in 2022 and 2023 may be followed by a rebound this year. With an expected increase of nearly 20%, domestic feed production volume could reach around four million tons this year. According to the announcement, the Hungarian feed industry primarily serves domestic needs, even though certain sectors of animal husbandry, especially the poultry sector, are particularly export-oriented. Only roughly 5% of all feed produced here, 150,000-250,000 tons per year, is exported, primarily to Romania. https://lnkd.in/dFGSW5Ui #Feedindustry #feedmanufacturing #feedmilling

The Ethiopian Animal Feed Industry Association (EAFIA) is not performing with determination. Although literature and information regarding the Ethiopian Animal Feed Industry Association (EAFIA) is almost non-existent, a scoping study carried out by ILRI, found that the EAFIA, which had been previously set up, has been dormant for many years, but recently there has been growing interest in reviving the association. A strong presence of the association is essential in protecting the interests of the animal feed industry within the country, and is also responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of compound feeds, which is achieved by setting clear rules and good manufacturing guidelines which ensure self-regulation and improved government regulation throughout the supply chain. Furthermore, associations are useful in providing missing or inadequate services, improving bargaining strength with suppliers, and allowing a greater co-ordination of the flow of input supplies. A feed manufacturers association is also required to address the knowledge gaps within the sector, thereby setting the agenda for research and development (R&D) in order to enhance competitiveness and capacity to innovate, so as to ensure sustainable and resource efficient livestock production systems. Overall, the association has the duty to play a central role in the decision- making process within the animal feeds industry, acting as a link between all stakeholders in the sector, both public and private.
