Fifteen years ago this month on October fifteenth, my mom Mona Sherman died suddenly at the gym. It was just a short time after I had spoken to her on the phone and was shocking and incredibly unexpected. She was in good health, and a youthful and active 70 year old. It's been a lot to process. As the anniversary of her passing approaches, here are fifteen lessons, in no particular order that I learned from my mom! I disagreed with her on number three. What lessons have you all learned from your mother? 1. You don't ask you don't get. 2. Some rules are meant to be broken. 3. Embellishments are not sins. 4. When eating at the table, move all condiments and beverages into dishes and glasses. 5. Make sure you accomplish something every day. 6. Stay active! 7. Keep up with your friends. 8. Invest time in your passions. 9. Give back to the community and the causes you believe in. 10. Dress up! 11. Keep up with the latest trends. 12. Travel! 13. Never stop being curious and learning. 14. Family first. 15. Shower the people you love with love.
