Bio-LNG Platform ’s Post

Bio-LNG Platform reposted this

This morning the first liquefied biomethane or bio-LNG was produced at Gate. Typically, sustainable biomass waste streams that do not compete with food production, as defined by the EU (RED II), are the source for biogas. This biogas is then upgraded to biomethane, injected into the existing gas grid and transported to liquefaction plants and liquefiers at LNG terminals through a system of mass balancing. The whole process is in accordance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive and certified by ISCC EU to trace the attributes of the bio-LNG and safeguard against double-claims. Attached the biomethane gas nominations from the gas grid into Gate. Annual production is estimated at 100.000 tons a year. #LNG

Thanks for sharing! Bio-methane is going to be a game changer in the alternative marine fuels, and it is great to see it growing from strength to strength.
