In a blink of an eye Chase de Vere are 55 years old. From one single office to an office in all of the major cities in the Uk. Why is 55 so important ?? How many people are aware that from 55 onwards they can potentially access their pension? It is never too late to consider planning your retirement as it’s always better to have a plan than no plan A day, a week, a month , a year , a decade .. can pass so quickly, from sliding doors moments to events that simply take your breath away.. #retirementplanning #retirementgoals #retirementsavings
Happy birthday to Chase de Vere !! Chase de Vere was originally established on 7 March 1969 – meaning that we are 55 years old today. That’s 55 years of providing Independent Financial Advice. We hope that our long-established history, together with the strength and security of our parent company, provides a high degree of confidence for all of our employees and all of our clients. Some other events which happened in 1969 include the first man walking on the moon, the Woodstock music festival, The Carpenters and Hot Chocolate were formed, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid and The Italian Job were released, Elton John and Led Zeppelin released their first albums, the battery powered smoke detector and the laser printer were both invented and Richard Nixon was inaugurated as the 37th US President.

#BaggiBites Stage 22: Identity Crisis Yesterday my phone was alive with debate about this year’s Glastonbury line up - especially the headline acts. I found myself a little relieved I missed out on a ticket after all! It seems every year, its ethos and identity is questioned. This year, respected music critic Neil McCormick argued “Glastonbury has given up on rock - and turned into a children’s birthday party”. 🎸🧒 🎉 It's easy to think Glastonbury is all about the headline acts. Its difference: staying true to its original purpose and beliefs. There is something for everyone: https://lnkd.in/emwBWTS3 Arguably the lack of rock on its stages is a betrayal of the festival’s roots. And the origins of its existence: https://lnkd.in/eMzhC7K2 The identity of Britain 🇬🇧 itself has been brought into question this week, particularly in attracting the best global talent to the creative sector. I find this alarming. The government takes great pride in promoting the creative industry abroad as a key sector to invest in but post-Brexit, this is yet another example of it shooting itself in the foot: https://lnkd.in/ewWbvnTb This fantastic campaign during Black History Month used Spotify to relay speeches by black leaders - powerful, engaging, and a very strong sense of identity: https://lnkd.in/eA7a23jY On a different note, I love the new identity created for Go.Compare. Am I alone in thinking that on TV, its masot, Gio Compario 🇮🇹 is intensely annoying (but I guess that’s the point in this sector). However in digital, animated form, in combination with the new identity, it’s quite charming. Maybe time to replace the real Gio altogether?! (Remember Halifax’s Howard?) https://lnkd.in/ePekHhap Event: If you’d like to see evidence of a founder and company utterly confident in it’s vision, identity and talent, then I’d recommend you see 100 Years of Disney 🐭 at the ExCel: https://lnkd.in/eKecQ8vx This week’s 'Legend Slot': after HMV picking up ‘Specialist Retailer of the Year’ at last week’s Retail Week Awards, I was thrilled to see vinyl records included in the Office for National Statistics Inflation Index for the first time in 32 years. Quite a turnaround 🎶 https://lnkd.in/eUUvmMFW Quote of the week: Walt Disney telling the story of Mickey’s creation: “He popped into my mind onto a drawing pad…on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when business fortunes were at lowest ebb and disaster seemed right around the corner.” #identity #branding #storytelling

Giving back: always important, especially when it aligns with your organisation's values. Coxswain Alliance sponsors a critical learning and development program with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra; the Fellows. This is about nurturing the talent of the future, building capability. Have a listen to how the seasoned players David and Matthew talk about mentoring young and talented players. It is a nuanced approach that offers multiple avenues for building capability. And Matthew's comment goes to the heart of it. It's not just about being a good player; it's also about being a good colleague. Isn't that the truth!
Next month our Fellows take centre-stage in The Splendour of the Baroque, performing alongside members of the Sydney Symphony and directed by acclaimed early music specialist Erin Helyard. As part of the Fellowship program, these young musicians receive mentorship from members of our Orchestra. Here, Principal Trumpet David Elton and Principal Emeritus Bassoon Matthew Wilkie talk about their role as mentors of the Fellowship program, revealing some of the many perks of the program and sharing some insights about this special concert.

The Breaking Down Racial Barriers (BDRB) initiative is facilitating a roundtable panel discussion on anti-Black racism in Saskatchewan’s music and entertainment industry. This Roundtable is presented by SaskMusic and supported by BreakOut West and The Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and ADVANCE - Canada’s new Black Music Business Collective, with additional support from FACTOR. Initiated, curated and coordinated by Canadian music and entertainment community mainstays IAN ANDRE ESPINET and David "Click" Cox, BDRB discussions are centred in the voices and lived experiences of working Black music professionals. To build an inclusive, economically viable Canadian music and entertainment industry, it is critical to address the anti-Black racism that exists in the systems and working environments within which Black music professionals and creatives operate. Taking place on Monday August 28th, 2023 (6:00pm Sask Time), with the following participants: - KYRIEL (PIMPTON) ROBERTS (Artist & Video Director) - PRINCE BANKS (Artist Manager/Producer) - FIYINFOLUWA OBAYAN (Artist) - ZOCHI (Artist) REGISTER NOW FOR ZOOM LINK: https://lnkd.in/gC7BcvqY In an effort to advance equity in the region's music industry, SaskMusic has supported the BDRB facilitated event to have difficult, yet critical, conversations in an effort to identify the structures and behaviours that perpetuate anti-Black racism. The Roundtable will address key areas of the entertainment industry and barriers faced by Black music professionals - with highlighted themes and key take-aways captured. #registernow #saskmusic #diversityinclusion #equity #EDI #regina #saskatoon #saskatchewan

If you unfortunately want to understand what cultural cringe looks like WAM have taken a moment to pose the question. Our collective identity is shaped by who we want to become. Looking at the current reality of today and understanding what we want to be. Becoming that is the narrative process of creating identity.
We are disappointed over the news that, Celebrate WA, the organisation responsible for curating the WA Day Festival has elected two artists from the east coast to headline Sundays activities. Following last years event we had hoped that Celebrate WA would have reconsidered their approach. This decision is in direct contrast with Celebrate WA’s mission “to honour and celebrate Western Australia's unique culture and talent”. While we are pleased with the inclusion of WA artists on the lineup, we believe that Sunday’s headlining slots represents a missed opportunity to fully showcase the best our state has to offer. West Australian artists are more than good enough to take up all positions on the lineup and the approach taken by Celebrate WA tells us they disagree. As we prepare to celebrate WA Day, let's remember the importance of celebrating everything that is special about WA including our incredibly rich pool of WA music talent.
