Congratulations to Robin Myers for creating an environment of innovation and modeling how a leader at NaphCare fosters our innovative spirit. Robin was nominated for her work opening a new infirmary and skilled nursing unit in the Arizona Dept. of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry. She created mobile laptop stations that allowed the team to chart in real-time at patients’ bedsides. #NaphCareKudos

Did you know that PSPA provides a selection of handy downloads to help you document and communicate your condition with others? One of these publications is the ‘All About Me’ leaflet. This is designed for people receiving professional care at home, in a hospital, respite care, nursing home, or care home. You and your carer can use it to inform staff of your individual needs, preferences, likes and dislikes. Once filled in, you can hand it to anyone to inform them of your condition so they can be more informed about the care you require and your needs. Regional Director of Marketing @ Champion Care | Leadership | Strategy | Visionary - Post Acute Care
The standoff in North Carolina shows the failure of states across the country to adequately address the long-term-care needs of younger people with complex disabilities. Our healthcare system is in dire need of improvement. I am an advocate of post-acute care and what we been seeing much of over the last year is younger and younger people being referred to skilled nursing. While depending on the state, this may be the only option, however this young woman's story is a prime example of why we must do better! What are your thoughts? 【Improvement in Patient Mobility Following Short-Term Rehabilitation in Skilled Nursing Facilities】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/gEAnrGUp (Authored by Sean R. Silver and Jaden A. Silver, from University of California, USA.) Mobility in older adults can be impaired after acute illness or hospitalization, and the level of severity can be used as a predictor of one's ability to return to independent living. Meanwhile, #skilled_nursing_facilities play an ever increasing role in the rehabilitation of patients. This work conducts a retrospective analysis of data from 4612 patients admitted for short-term rehabilitation in a large nursing home chain in California to determine whether patients' #mobility scores, as measured by rehabilitative staff, significantly improved by time of discharge compared to their scores at admission. #Rehabilitative_Services #Independent_Living #Healthcare

As more resuscitation is happening in the ED hallways and triage booths, new resuscitation tools that are portable and easy to setup and use can be game changing. #emergencynurse #emergencymedicine
"We use it so often that LifeFlow is a verb in our EDs. The nurses love it because it is so quick and easy to use. I use it for blood and fluids. It is particularly helpful now that we seem to be doing resuscitation in the hallways and in triage booths. Game changer." - Gay Gooden, MD https://ow.ly/WJje50Q8Vmc #ED #emergencycare #minutesmatter
