Lots for my legal and gov. affairs friends to consider in this MedCity News story on California #healthcare #transaction regulations, but let's talk about the #communications aspects of *new* regulatory hurdles... ✅ First, any pre-close regulatory requirements should read like a flashing caution sign for the comms team. This is your reminder that if you aren’t already BFFs with your gov/legal teams, it’s time to cozy up. Without cross-departmental coordination, new regs can lead to misfires small and big (think: public filings that lead to gossip or news coverage before you've proactively notified stakeholders). ✅ Which brings me to: All transactions need a comprehensive communications strategy and plan. Period. Strong comms plans consider relevant regulatory hurdles, deal milestones, potential roadblocks, audiences, sensitivities, messages… you get the point. An internal email is not a plan. A press release is not a strategy. ✅ Comms planning must begin well before notices are filed and deals are signed. Advanced notice is what gives your comms team the ability to design the best possible approach for success. Because sometimes you need ground softening to promote market acceptance or employee retention. Sometimes you need to segment contact lists in a new way or design new feedback loops that don’t already exist. Absolutely no one needs to scramble when it comes to something mission critical for your business. 💡 The deals that look easy? Guaranteed the work behind the scenes was anything but. https://lnkd.in/gih8kxDm

Healthcare Operations | Sales Operations | Investor Relations | Private Equity | Funnel performance | Admissions | Business Development | CRM | Revenue Generation | Fractional Professional | Advisor | Consultant
What is it you do here again? Individuals drawn to healthcare are often those who lead with compassion. They eagerly tackle challenges and readily assume various roles as needed, in both large and small operations. However, I've observed that this commendable trait can diminish the quality of client, family, and referent experiences it can also errode the financial health of a program. A valuable exercise I periodically use with leaders is to map out the many ways in which they and their team contribute to organizational demands. This process consistently sheds light on potential trade-offs resulting from a lack of clear definition and prioritization of core responsibilities. Individuals responsible for admissions and outreach play pivotal roles in maintaining an organization's well-being and the satisfaction of external stakeholders. Neglecting to prioritize the core features of their roles leads to missed opportunities, both for them and the organization. If an outreach professional prioritizes fieldwork over a referral, if they miss calls, or fail to meet weekly commitments, they are missing the mark. Similarly, if an admissions professional misses calls, postpones assessments & scheduling, or neglects follow-ups, then they are too distracted. Continuously refining and defining the scope of work should remain an ongoing endeavor which merrits regular review. By ensuring and prioritizing effective contributions from everyone, minimizing distractions, and emphasizing their designated tasks, organizations can secure a significant advantage — one that truly matters to those in need of the services they provide. #Align-consulting-group-acg
