We are proud to partner with Boston Women's Workforce Council in creating this powerful video about the pay equity gap between men and women. The average gender wage gap in Greater Boston is 30¢, and more for women of color. We calculated that the women in our programs, on average, make about $6,592 less than their male counterparts. We asked a few of them how that 30% more income of $6,592 a year would impact their lives. Their answers were honest, touching, and empowering. Watch the video to hear their voices directly, and let's continue the fight to close the pay equity gap! #WomensMoneyMatters #BWWC #MaPoli #WageEquityNow

It is a privilege to be a part of Women's Money Matters and the important work we are doing to raise the voices of women who don't always have a platform to share their stories on important systemic issues that disproportionately impact women, especially women of color, like pay equity. #wageequitynow #payequity #womensmoneymatters #bwwc

COO, J.Thelander Consulting | Real-time compensation data & consulting for the private capital market
We pulled gender compensation data for our monthly PC newsletter, The Thelander Digest. What's the takeaway? The gender pay gap is narrowing among chief executives of privately held companies. However, female representation is low overall. Read the full article and view the data tables below.
Since March is Women's History Month, we dug into our private company dataset to look at how the representation of female C-Suite executives at private companies has changed YoY and what progress has been made in closing the gender pay gap between men and women at the highest levels. Perceptions around pay equality vary by income level. Women who earn the most believe they are paid more unequally: for those earning between £65,000 and £75,000, only 36.7% believe they are paid on par with their male counterparts. Based on a survey of 2,000 women commissioned by Stewarts, our report seeks to better understand the perceptions of equal pay in the workplace and potential barriers to taking action, while empowering women to consider addressing these disparities. Tomorrow is Women's Equal Pay Day, a day to recognize the persistent gender pay gap. Yet, here we are, still not buying bread cheaper but making less on the dollar. Let's take a moment to reflect on the fact that women, on average, have to work until March to make the same amount as their male counterparts did in the previous year. As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's continue to advocate for equal pay and work towards closing the gender pay gap for all women. #EqualPayDay #WomensHistoryMonth

On average, women make 84¢ for every dollar of their male counterparts. 👆 Read that again! This gap is even larger for minorities: Asian American women: 99 cents White women: 74 cents Moms: 71 cents (compared to working dads) Black women: 69 cents Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander women: 66 cents Native women: 59 cents Latinas: 57 cents This is unacceptable! While #EqualPayDay is an opportunity to highlight these issues, the real work happens each and every day that we advocate for unfair wage practices. Learn how to take action at equalpaytoday.org *Stats courtesy of the American Association of University Women for women working full-time, year-round in comparison to non-Hispanic white men.
