New NFT options are changing Blockchain gaming. Most of the big names in Blockchain gaming use the basic ERC-721 or, to a lesser extent, ERC-1155s. But now, two new protocols are opening new options for NFTs: The 6551 and the 721B. The ERC-6551 is a new standard that builds on the first ERC-721 by introducing smart contract capabilities to NFTs. This means that ERC-6551 tokens can hold other assets (like in-game content) that interact with other dApps, and can serve as an on-chain identity. However, the ERC-721B token standard is a new, advanced version of the ERC-721 and offers a number of improvements over the original, including more gas-efficient batch transfers of in-game items as well as storing dynamic metadata such as current stats or abilities. These improvements make ERC-721B more player-friendly in terms of cost. So which is right for your game? If you need your NFTs to have smart contract capabilities, then ERC-6551 is the better choice. It Is All Happening In July for Ethereum Gaming Tokens! 🎮 Expect votalitity this month in your gaming tokens, with over $148 million worth of tokens being unlocked across various projects. According to TokenUnlocks, these include major names like Xai, Immutable, and Pixels. Here's what to watch for: 1. Xai kicks off with a massive cliff unlock on July 9, releasing 198.4 million XAI tokens worth $60.76 million. Investors and the team will receive the majority, with $7 million designated for the ecosystem and reserve. Xai aims to become the 'Valve' of Ethereum gaming, building an expansive ecosystem akin to the Steam marketplace. 2. Immutable follows on July 12 with a cliff unlock of 32.47 million IMX tokens valued at $38.32 million, directed towards project and ecosystem development. 3.
