If you're uncertain about the distinctions between emergency care and urgent care, save this post! The good news is, you’re not alone. In fact, a staggering 33% of Americans opt for the ER even when their issues aren't exactly emergencies, according to a study commissioned by Zocdoc. But the bad news is, you could be spending thousands of dollars unnecessarily by going to the ER when you don’t need to. Let's clear things up: 👉 Emergency Care is your lifeline in critical situations. It's rapid but meant for severe issues and may come with a hefty price tag. 👉 Urgent Care is your go-to for non-life-threatening problems like the flu or minor fractures. It's quick and convenient. There is an even more affordable solution that many millennials often neglect, and that is primary care. Physician Assistant Nicholas Romano breaks down all three in the latest article here: https://lnkd.in/gf6t4REV

I have been in this field longer than some of you have been on this earth. I love long term care. I remember when we restrained everyone to "keep them safe from falling". Things have changed. Some for the better and some not. But the need for care is still there. It is harder than when I first started because people leave the hospital so much quicker. The challenges are greater but the need for care is still there. The question is not do we need long term care. The question is how can we meet the needs.
